Steam Backup - What the Hell?

Wanted to get my Stepdad and Brother to play ESO, and did a steam backup to copy it on their computer to save the download - they have a valid account and all. Seems like it completely deleted my game, i have to download 50GB again! With my connection, that takes over one Day with my connection. I'm not the guy to rant about stuff, but that is really annoying and I don't even know why the hell that would even happen. Please fix it!
