This is what 5 Light looks like with Stahlrim :) I'm wearing a Troll King Epaulet with it, and Breton style Shield and Staff. The fabric dyes really well, it is ornate, and they did a good job on it :) Here is my Nord modeling the Stahlrim in Wrothgar, she fits right in :)

Share your pics of your characters wearing it, and suggest colors to dye it :) I used Hlaalu Gold on the main part, it made the design in the coat really pop.The accents are Abyssal Barryl.

Please don't turn this into a trash Zos thread ;_; start your own board for that please. This is highlighting a good job of their design team for this set.

Her hood looks awesome, you did a great job! Those daggers look great. I made a 2 hander but not a 1 hander yet. Good to know the Daggers are a good size :) Thank you for sharing!

Is one of these a heavy set?

I'm thinking of getting one, zos will likely bring out a strong crafted set eventually.

Or if the rumored warden ever comes out an ice style would go lovely with it.

Only the chest and legs are Stahlrim here, sorry, these are the only heavy I have crafted. Its paired with Pact style heavy armor and a Tremorscale shoulder. And a Stahlrim 2-handed greatsword. Dyed Aylied Gold and Abyssal Berryl.

No flaps and minimal tassets! Somewhat silly straps criss-crossing without purpose. But overall one of the good motifs. I hope ZOS learned the lesson from Thieves Guild not to undercut quality.

The picture has all light except medium chest. Light jerkin would look almost the same.
edit: dyed to clothier purple, julianos white, woodworker yellow.

I wasn't going to get this. Too 'fantastical' I thought at first, plus the whole mimic stone thing of course. But then you've gone and shared those images and... I like it. I really like it. Sigh.

The only parts I like are the Robe and Hood.

Besides it's impractical to wear heavy winter clothing when the only zones that have cold weather is Eastmarch and Wrothgar. I'd like to see people wearing a full set of this in the Alik'r.

I feel this was a better buy than the Grim Harlequin, sadly (excluding the Mimic Stone issue) some of the Grim Harlequin looks amazing, but some stuff, like the shield, looks like it was designed by a bad tattoo artist :( With this set its consistent, the fabric dyes nicely and lays nicely, and female tops don't look like we're smuggling mead kegs like some chests do, with the distorted female form. If you have a supply of Crowns from the Crown Crates or have them on hand from purchasing, definitely pick this up if you're a crafter.

This is highlighting a good job of their design team for this set.

I don't hate it but honestly I don't love it, so I don't mind the fiasco or not having it.

Some of the weapons look good. Definitely. But comparing the armour to what was in Skyrim, I prefer the Skyrim models.

ESO's frostcaster screams 'eskimo' to me. Skyrim's has a more Morrowind chitin style to it.

    Pretty much this.

I would be interested in seeing some of these styles mixed and matched with it though as they definitely could be something that accentuates certain parts of the gear.

Armor looks really cool. For anyone that might be running a Mage/Magicka type character it really fits them very well. Im just hoping for a more normalized style in a similar fashion for my stamina characters. Throwing on the Frostcaster style when running through Upper Eastmarch and Northern Wrothgar makes it feel like my characters arent going to freeze to death while questing or farming mats.

Rather than Eskimo I think it blends a bit of Explorer with Winter, I don't mind. I did feel weird traipsing about Rawl-Ka in it but soon got immersed in my character and it didn't matter :D

I wish stuff crafted with "free" motifs could be dyed nicely like paid ones

    ...they can?

I mean, granted, not all motifs are created equal, and some like Glass and Dwemer are a real pain to get good colors out of, but it is doable.

What you're probably seeing are people using rare dyes (which look good on pretty much anything), because if you're going to spend real money on the style of your equipment, you're probably the kind of person that's hung around the game long enough to pick up some dyes.

For instance, (I think) I was using Lamae White, and Coldharbour Ash Black on my armor up there. If you're only options are a common white and black... it's not going to look anywhere near as sharp.

    I can vouch for this.

Even some of the lowest material racial armours can look amazing with the right dyes, and those dyes tend to be ones which take a lot of time to unlock via achievements.

So does anyone know whether they (ZoS) are likely to allow you to change the style of dropped sets - would work a treat and certainly increase sales of motifs across the board - and mimic stones - if they implemented?

@ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom Ladies - Any chande this is likely to happen or be in the works?
