I've been optimistic about this game from beta and launch. I still have that optimism and I love the game, I've poured a ton of time into it and still enjoy it. So please share some holiday cheer, thank ZOS for their hard work, and don't get lost in some of the toxic criticism on this forum!

All I want for Christmas is a working server and no lag. I was a loyal subscriber until a few days ago when I lost my optimism after the last few maintenances earlier this month. The game is currently unplayable for me. Constant lag and ping spikes are creating a dos for me. I've poured a ton of money into this game and the server performance is worse now than when the game started. You can see why some of us are a bit jaded holiday or no holiday.

I am having difficulty playing the game in certain areas at all. On PS4 Pro, I can't even be in Cyrodiil for more then 15 minutes at most before it crashes. I fear trying to do dungeons because of how badly it ran the many times I went in Cyrodiil. Crafting, dyeing, and banking frequently cause me to crash. The only quests I haven't really done (dlc included) are the quests in Cyrodiil so that's out.

I can't help but wonder if anyone at ZOS tried the game on PS4 Pro before promoting it. Every other game runs great, ESO doesn't. No fix yet, no eta. I love this game, but I find it hard commend ZOS at the moment. With the exception of 2 dungeons there has been no new pve content since Dark Brotherhood. That is a problem when pve content is really the only thing that actually works without crashing.

Other than one tam no progress was made pvp is worse then ever now and the game still crashes constantly 2016 should be a year Zos ought to forget not praise.

Another fun year in ESO! Developers this year have made more good choices than bad so in the end I'm still a satisfied costumer.

I agree. This is my first and only experience with MMO (although, I would probably not play another MMO because it can just be trying, at times, dealing with people in the game/MMO.) ESO is very ambitious and well developed. Although, we have had reoccurring issues with maintenance, lags, bugs and crashing, I can say it is expected for such an expansive game. They may not have responded to the issues as quickly as people would like or efficiently as many people would think, but they do respond to issues; updates/patches/fixes were made as they could. Plus, this is not ZOS/Zenimaz's only game. They have multitudes of other games to deal with along with multitude of complains and customers' requests from this game and others. So yes, among all the calamities that so many have complained about, ZOS has kept this game running all these years with new DLCs and contents added accordingly. So, I can say it is fair to say that ZOS/Zenimax have put in some hard work to keep this game running.

ESO is a great game, but it's becoming harder and harder to say that now, since the performance has taken so many hits. Maybe once they fix all the problems caused by the last few updates then more people will appreciate them, right now though, it's quite hard what with the Crown Crate Lottery *** and the way they completely seem to ignore the broken aspects of the game.

I've played ESO since the January beta of 2014, and there has been a lot of ups and downs, I've been extremely supportive all the way through, but I'm losing my patience to be honest, and I don't think I have been so scared of what ZOS might do with the game since they first announced B2P and the cash store. I mean, if the virtual lottery and 4.5k Elk mount are any indication, they have gotten a taste for the money they can wring out of moronic costumers. The fact that they can sell a reskinned horse for almost the same price as all their DLCs combined is really off-putting. What if they decide to do away with the DLCs and just get stuck in a cycle of Crown Store sales and whatnot?

There is of course a part of me that remains optimisitic that ZOS will stay true to what they planned for the game, but it's diminishing by the day.

I know I'm being a *** downer, but I can't rightly appreciate someone who is doing so much ***, had you asked me half a year ago it would have been a different story, but there's a limit to how far things should be allowed to go, and I think that limit has been passed with the recent things they have decided to do.

Tamriel is a wonderful place where I have met many people I am happy to call friends. I feel at home when I need a little RL break. Every update has always made me feel excited despite any frustrations in lag and such. I do feel riding needs to be account wide and the cool down between trainings removed so that you can pour as much money as you have in your inventory and bank into training

I feel like some achievements should be account wide such as the DLCs once you finish the main quest in those areas. They can be difficult. I just got kingmaker for the first time and I never wish to do it again. But on the idea of account wide achievements, they should only be account wide if you've done them once before. If you don't want that you can toggle it off

Merry Christmas and happy holidays to the men and women of ZOS and their families. There are always changes/tweaks to make, and I don't think MMOs fit under the definition of an "exact science". This doesn't mean that the devs don't care about the game or about the players.

the game is so bad that the optimistic threads no longer have a touch of impression on people like they used to be at first..

Even though I am a bit disappointed in the over all direction the game is taking and all the problems that never seem to get fixed and the rampant cheating and exploiting that never seems to be squashed.

I know it the folks there at zos can only do so much with the tools they are given to work with and thanks for the efforts you put into to trying to make ESO a good game, tell the bean counters and suits to get with the program.
