SPINNER VS BURNING SPELLWEAVE (bsw)

from people that have tried both sets i'm wondering which one did you prefer, the 4k spell penatration or 6k spell damage.
I tried both of them on the same character same set up just swapped the sets for each other
the results i got, was very similar damage output my swallow soul hit for 14951 on spell weave and on spinner it hit a little higher 15120 very close, (PVE obviously)

i want to go with spellweave do to the damage would be on any enemy even enemy with shields.
meanwhile spinner would under perform on shield users.

but i wonder would the spinner perform so much better than spell weave on a heavy armor enemy?

magicka stat is not much a big deal i get 1k more with spinner. so shield would be a bit higher on spinner

You got it backwards. Spinners is the one that does better against shield users.

are you sure about that every were i look they say spell penetration does not have an effect against shields users unless their shield is down of course

Shields have 0 resistances. Penetration not matter against shields although virtually no enemies have shields in pve.

Burning spell weave is pretty much exponentially better than spinner. And it's free. Farming it is a real pain. But it is just by far the best set for damage for all magicka classes in both pvp and pve.

use both AND a monster set. Just have the BS staff on one bar and once it procs you swing to the Spinner staff bar.

I really don't see the appeal of Burning Spell Weave, like at all.

Yeah, maybe on a magDK it would be extremely useful but I prefer my Scathing Mage on my Magblade just because I can keep it up indefinitely whereas BSW has a small cooldown period and then you absolutely need to proc it as soon as that cooldown is over else you are losing out on DPS, which is sort of difficult as MagNB aren't exactly swimming in Fire Damage with Force Pulse and Wall being the larger majority of it and Meteor isn't always available for an extra DoT to proc it.

IDK, math just doesn't add up for me on a Magblade.

You forgot light attack weave with a flame staff. It actually is the best set HOWEVER I stay with my TBS as the difference is miniscule, with TBS winning in a group with fantastic buff uptime.
