One Tamriel is better than sliced bread

Just have to say, it has been fantastic,
I read a thread posting hate....so I just had to post my view


Before One Tamriel, I could not play with my friends, they have no maxed characters, so that sucked


Secondly I a Ebonheart character am playing through Riven spire, a different zone , that I also originally would have been to OP for, before scaling you would have to do all the zones in order for them to be fun or have a point, and WOW what a loss, be systematic or lose on soooo much great content

What do you guys think?

1T was a fantastic move on ZOS's part.

1T was a good change, but I wish they changed the quests to make the story make a little more sense.

Other than that, it was a fantastic update.

Simply being able to go where you want is so refreshing (in an MMO). I wasn't here before 1T but I totally love the concept.

Before the update, doing things like cadwell's was rather serene, but not necessarily in a good way. The vet versions of zones were not populated and if there was something tough, you had to camp out a while until someone came along. Now it is easier to just pick up and finish the non-solo content.

Yes is good, but questing is still very streamlined. I mean yes, you can go anywhere you want, but if you start questing there you will only be able to do the side quests. The alliance's story quests are still from zone A to Z, and link up to each other. So it is highly inefficient to start "where ever you want".

? I skipped all of Daggerfall to get to Rivenspire and am doing the zone main quest?

Not sure I understand this. When I have char walk into capitals the main quests start up. Same in other cities. There is usually a giver right there regardless of whether the prior have been done in other zones.

Aside from the major issues, it's definitely nice to hang with guildies who're in other alliances. Or hang with them over there at the same time. We no longer have to log into Cyrodiil to do group events together anymore. We can just beat the crap out of each other on the spot! Never a dull moment.

Came back based on friend reviews after a long hiatus. Not subbing just pure freeloading at this point. So you whales reading this keep droppin your currency on crowns!

Initial reaction: my mind was blown seeing yellows and reds in DC territory. After a week and a half it's still a bit odd but that's only because I put stock into the idea of the three banners war.

Instead of gathering mats like I did before now one of my high level crafters (I think I have 5 chars that are all 50/50/50 in the gear crafts) stop at a guild store for mats to craft gear for my new character. That's pretty lame.

Overworld difficulty outside of WB's seems similar. I bet if I deployed my champ points (481 same as when I left 8 ish months ago, hell maybe more) and with proper gear WB's can be soloed it'll just take time doing the resto dance.

PvP seems surprisingly more stable. Which is the main reason I returned. Better pop then when I left but still not year one levels but that's OK.

Overwhelmed by the amount of new sets.

That's about it so far. I'm sure I'll sub at some point to get a taste of the new areas but seeing they're not the size of Wrogthar I'm kinda indifferent to exploring those areas.

For me the real boon with One Tamriel is the ability to do DLC content before level 50 without over-leveling the base content even more than usual. Now you can go anywhere, do anything, at any time and still get good xp and loot. Even running through an earlier zone is worthwhile now.

It's also made the New Life Event great fun with characters that haven't explored all the quest zones yet, especially if playing solo and unguilded so you can't just ask someone to invite you to a new location, you actually have to find your way there.

I was initially sceptical about One Tamriel, mainly because I thought it would be impossible to get all the scaling right, and yet they've done a brilliant job on that as was evident in the Witches Festival when level 3's were fighting boss mobs alongside 561CPs with everyone getting decent rewards, loot and xp.

Then there's the minutiae like the various sets, the way harvesting works, and so on. An all-round great effort!

It's mostly good, some bad. Some incredibly bad. Like Proc Sets. Those are BAD bad.
