Why not disconnect to character screen?...

Mainly PvP and Trials...

When I get DC'd, why must I go all the way to the first game screen and not just my character screen so I can log in ASAP ?

I dont need a ESO logo telling me this is ESO or that Im playing ESO. I already know...

Why go through all those screens and load screens just to get back into a game that DC'd me because it thinks I have no Internet? (even though I do have Internet...)

The first ESO logo screen is really pointless, in fact Zenimax even blocks recording because they know its a pointless screen.
So why is it there wasting my time?

Server selection and character selection should be on the same screen. Theres only 2 servers...
EU shows your EU characters, US shows your US characters, simple.

We dont need all these screens and load times when we need to jump back into the game ASAP .

If you get disconnected, by definition, your connection to the server is gone. So you need to log in to the server again. You would only get dropped to character select if you retained your connection to the server, since you have to be logged into the server to get your characters. (That's also why server select and character select couldn't be on the same screen; you need to log into whichever server to get to the character list.)

Edit your settings file to Skip Pregame Intros. If on console, sorry.

You can tap buttons or triggers to skip those opening logo vids, on console.

That only stops the Bethesda and Zenimax logo videos, it doesn't stop you from being d/c'd all the way down to the start screen.

Very true, but I just find it annoying to go through all those loads screens because Zenimax cant figure out how to fix the DC lag.
As in, game lags, you then DC with a message saying you have no Internet while still chatting and updating people in your party chat what happened ... So you obviously have Internet.

Log back in and find out youre not the only one DCing.

The game info I understand the need to show it.

But that ESO ring logo? Then you have to press a button just to get pass it and choose a sever?

Why not skip that pointless logo?

I'm not sure how the console version is set up, but, I'm guessing: account security.

Part of the issue is, you need to reauthenticate with the server and prove you are who you say you are. Allowing someone access to an account without authentication would open the door to some hilarious exploits and abuse.

"We know Steve's account just went offline... because we DDOSed his router. So now, we log in, pretending to be him... all we have to do is impersonate his router and all the tempering alloy you can eat."

At a guess, the server selection is probably when your system goes through authentication with the server.

So... it makes your life a bit less convenient, but protects your account from some really simple (and petty) exploits.

Again, I'm guessing, and it's been 15 years since I was in a classroom for this stuff, but, that's the basic idea.
