This Should SO Be A Thing: Topic Revisited

I strongly feel that we should be able to change the styles of preexisting armors. There are a ton of pretty decent dropped, non-craftable sets out there that I would love to use, but (no offense to the creators) kinda look pretty bad. ESPECIALLY when they're scaled to CP160. Anyone who has made it to the gear level cap knows that the use of Rubedite, Ruby Ash, and Rubedo all leave your armor and weapons with a reddish tint, or just red in general.

"If you don't like the look of the armor, just wear a costume" some will say. Well sometimes I get sick of wearing costumes. Sometimes I just wanna let my toons actual armor breathe for a bit. Now I'm not saying you have to allow ALL dropped armor have changeable styles because even though some of the monster helms are pretty creepy (like Kragh's LOL) I wouldn't wanna change the styles of the monster sets. We have an option to hide helmet. I'm fine with that.

It's armor sets that have the barbaric style for example, that I'd like to change. Now I'm sure something like this can be implemented in the game since you can do it with certain armors (I believe it's crafted ones) if you have the Imperial City DLC (though you can only change armors to imperial style). I think that if you know the styles, you should be able to change the preexisting one.

What do you guys think?

Totally agree but since there's many a thread regarding this subject I'm guessing this will get closed

I think we should be able to craft our own costumes!
    Transmogrification ftw! :)

Agree. I have to use costumes to cover up the "uhgly" in favor of functionality. At level 50 are we master crafters or not?
I don't comment here often but when I do, I get [snip]

So in essence gear no longer matters other than stats.

    That's really the concept
People want the artwork seperate from gear

I agree with you, however, how would you do that? Scrolls of style changing or something like that?

What I would like to see, is that you can equip armor that would funtion as your armor, while wearing armor on top of that, which will not give you any stats, but just the looks.
So you get all the benefits from strong armor sets, while looking fabulous in your own way.

Of course, you won't be able to wear light armor over heavy armor and vice versa.
It will also fill spots in your inventory, or players who don't care or really need to make room for some loot can just temporarily store armor there. Although, maybe the upcomming Housing feature (or in a later future) can have armor stands, where you can drop armor on, and you can equip that armor as a costume.

Because truthfully, this is my favority MMO, partially due to the fact that you can customise your armor to stand out, whereas most other MMO's I played, you're limited to look like the other milion players, or pay real money to look like the other thousand players who bought it.
