Should I upgrade to windows 10?

I currently have windows 7 and when I go to update it, it stays stuck for hours looking for updates. Was wondering if windows 10 would be better?

With regard to Windows 7, I can personally vouch for the effectiveness of the advice given here, in that it worked for me:-

As for Windows 10, it's a matter of personal choice. Bear in mind that with its forced updating there's no indication thus far that updates are going to be any easier under Windows 10 than they are under Window 7. If you have other reasons to make the upgrade then fine, but I wouldn't advise doing it for the reason you're giving here.

For what it's worth, you can disable Win10's forced updates... but it requires some serious tinkering with system permissions. If the last phrase wasn't immediately clear to you, then you probably want to stay away.

Yeah, if won't do anything and just install windows 10 all willy-nilly microsoft is practically looking over your shoulder and watching everything you do. You need to tinker around with your computer quite a bit to disable all the settings and quiet forced updates they don't want you to know about.
