Why does the dungeon auto boot you at the end?!

I just ran veteran Selene's web, my first time there on my dragonknight and I was doing the quest.

We killed Selene and then the stupid questgiver starts doing this pointless RP with her ghost, meanwhile everyone else leaves. I can't turn in the quest because the questgiver is going full RP on the dead spider lady and I'm then booted from the instance before he's done. The result? I now have to go through the entire dungeon and do the quest again because it reset when I tried to go back in.

ZOS, can you PLEASE remove the auto-boot feature? Or at least remove the stupid roleplay? The story in dungeons doesn't matter anyway because everyone rushes through so fast you don't have time to listen to the dialogue.

    Agreed. I've personally had this happen, as well as have been in groups with guildies and accidentally left not realizing that they were doing the quest. The dungeon auto boot "feature" should have a much longer timer, more like 2-5 minutes.

    You can do the dungeon again on normal mode for the quest, it doesn't make a difference.

    Also, at the end of the dungeon, it usually helps to write in group chat "please stay, doing quest". At least one player most of the time will wait then for you to complete the quest. :)

    That said, yes it is kinda annoying that you get kicked from the instance when the group is dissolved. I suppose they did that so you can't "exploit" the 25% damage bonus for using the dungeon finder.

    When i see someone staying a bit back and waiting for sumething, then i ak if they ahve the quest and wait till they're done. Tell the others will also help in most cases.

    Saying something in group chat doesn't mean jack, as I find a lot of peps don't even pay attention to it.

    Dude, you told that you ran with guildies. You want to tell me there is no way you and your guild can communicate? That would be something you should think about... And even if not everyone notices that, 1/3 WILL notice for sure. And 1/3 is enough to not get portet out.

    The auto boot in it's current state is to important to touch it in any way. It's the easiest and cheapest way to get out of a dungeon group back to where you entered from (not any wayshrine), don't cost gold and additionally allows the replacements in PUGs to join the dungeon. Else the dungeon would have permanently (or as you suggested for 5 damn minutes!) 4 players in it if the leaved/kicked player doesn't port out manually.

    So no, don't touch the auto boot, learn to communicate

    Didn't have time to type it. And the previous few times I've tried I was ignored. (Though I did manage to turn the quest in, barely, prior to now).

    If you want to leave the instance for free, just use the shortcut at the end of the dungeon and use the door. The autoboot feature is completely unnecessary.

    You ran a whole dungeon with that group. So you had no time in the whole run to tell them you are on the quest (which you should do at the beginning of the dungeon anyway)? Don't make me laugh.

    Also not every instance has a shortcut to leave it and I surely won't run back to the entrance.

    i actually hate it, that you can't walk out of a dungeon and get in the appropriate region :neutral:

    You think they'd remember? They've got their undaunted pledges and monster helms, they'll be too distracted to care about my quest. Either way I shouldn't have to rely on others just to turn in a quest.

    I disagree 100%. The auto boot feature is completely unnecessary. Esp when the dungeon is completed... there is ZERO purpose for it. And it was a one time mistake with a guildie, we were even in teamspeak and it took more than just ME leaving group for that to occur. *** happens but this kinda *** is easily avoidable by allowing the quest to auto complete when the final boss is killed. SMH.
