Levitation spells ?

Since flying mounts are probably never going to be introduced in ESO,Is there a chance sorcerers can gain the ability to cast levitation spells ?

According to the elder scrolls lore mages are pretty much known for being able to levitate

I've seen quite a lot of people using levitation magic. Also, teleportation magic and infinite health magic.

Levitation? Sure, as long as it requires concentration to maintain and precludes the levitator from using any other skills while levitating.

No levitation since Morrowind. :-( This game is extremely clearly not designed to handle that, but hopefully the next single-player TES game will be.

Not a relevant reply to the person you quoted. Further, some aspects of previous single player TES games do not fit well into an MMO. The person you quoted brought up a good point, how to balance such an skill, if it were actually designed to be useful.

Jokes aside, it doesnt have to be a skill. It can be a magician personality that contains emotes like /sitreadbook /levitateritual etc. These emotes are already in the game.

Who remembers in Morrowind when you would be levitating in the sky, avoiding all the cliff racers, and suddenly your spell cast would fail?

I also miss how your alchemy equipment would determine the potency of the solution.

And what does that have to do with anything?

Levitate; players able to avoid guards, players able to use a bow out of reach of npcs and other players, ability to break line of sight by going up on roofs, buildings, cliffs, whatevers.

Might work perfectly fine in a single player game [although even there it was used to get out of a lot of combat and evade npcs and certain areas], but I have no idea how they would manage to implement it in multiplayer game without all the possible issues, exploits and abuses.

...and have a dozen or more levitate spells in your list, in increasing power levels...same with the speed spells...put 'em together and you really felt like you were flying...even tho' the pc looked like it was drawn by Wayne Boring (artist of early Superman fame)...instead of appearing horizontal while flying, the character was usually shown in a more vertical position...

The system isn't quite set up for levitation, considering how much trouble that would cause for people who might go "off the map"... though of course, that could be migrated by adding levitation failzones to drop all those who think to levitate over slaughterfish or mountain ranges... (or cyrodil castlewalls for that matter)

Still, too much coding effort for no worthy gain, I would think.

If anything, we might perhaps someday get "floating" mounts (Like... floating broomsticks, floating carpets, floating driftdisks...) and possibly a "levitation-floating" personality... you know, simply for flavor, with no "levitate get over obstacle" effects.
