I removed everything from my quick slots. I had my merchant and banker there. and a few other token things that do stuff. meat bag, coin drops, blah.. and instantly it worked.

    I had tried E E E E E for hours // NO
I tried log in log out. // NO
I tried exit enter // no
    I hide in a corner // NO

clearing up my quick slots helped me.

I have found that if you click on the door to go into the Inn, let your toon load into the building, don't step away from the door, use the E to use the performer's kit

I notice the kit's works better when standing next to any of the doors inside the Inn, and have your curser pointed away from the crowd

if you have issues at any other place, try using the Kit from within your bag, Kit is in the quest item bag

I also noticed, if the NPC is busy watching another player, you get no response from the kit so try using the kit while your curser is hovered over a player and not the NPC

I hope these tips help, I have done these quest on 5 different toons and not having any issues completing the quest.

Killing yourself actually works, I had trouble with this quest and the dancing one, but after killing myself they both worked first try. Killing myself also fixed a glitch with my character that caused them to permanently be a werewolf and I'd have to log out to turn human again.

    Thanks heaps guy above.

<--- Girl above and you're welcome.

The rest of you - this is an actual bug, if you die a lot you won't get this bug, only good players get this bug :*

The place is just so saturated with so many toons/players in one small area causing huge lags and in-op functions. It probably will work better once this initial frenzy dies down and places become more sparse. Happens each time a new DLC/event is installed.

No it was as above, a quest bug from another quest. Nothing to do with lag. After killing my character everything works again.

Cool, glad it finally worked for you from your self-fix. For me, day 1 when there were so many toons around, this charm quest was haywired, and I couldn't complete it. Day 2 yesterday, it worked fine. There were less toons in the Inn and area. I was finally able to perform in all three areas.

The problem me and some others had was caused by another quest (that quest, no idea what it's called) that lays anti-stun effects on the character, and apparently everybody else dies all the time so the effects get removed, but me and a few others aren't so killable and the effects remained and interfere with all other usable quest items that apparently have to stun a player before the item gets used.

A view into the behind scenes of how quest items work I guess.

*also dumb the quest effects aren't automatically removed, and that's the pretty much the real bug that needs to be fixed.

Yeah having same issues here. Can't do the quests where I'm meant to dance or perform in certain locations. Worked well for one character, but for the second character it just constantly says 'item not ready yet'. Nothing I do fixes it - tried all the above fixes but it just won't work at all. :(

Same here for my female Imperial Nightblade. My other, non-Imperial, characters have worked fine. Frustrating :(

Same for me too. One of my chars seems bugged (unfortunately the one I really want to get the achievement on) while it's working fine for three other ones I've done the quests with. Specifically the Lava Foot Stomp quest never caused any trouble for any of the other ones, I press E and they start dancing instantly.
The bugged one is a breton sorc btw so it can't be related to race, I also have a breton nightblade and it works fine for her.
