More unique enchanted items like Lord Warden's Shield?

So, I know that Lord Warden's Shield, The Grievious Ward, is a unique item- in fact, it's the only shield in the game that has a health regeneration enchantment AND IT SPEAKS TO YOU!!!

Can anyone else name items in the game that have a really unique trait or ability?

There is a dagger iirc as part of a quest but you lose it when you complete it. It kind of taunts you. I always wanted Skorias charred claymore to say "Be still while I end you" when you heavy attack someone. Would be pretty epic.

Yes, I have the Grievous Ward (Lord Warden's shield) and for the longest time I thought that the sound was a glitch, something that happened in the dungeon. I even submitted a ticket about it.

Then I looked up a build that suggested using grievous ward and it said that the shield actually does talk to you.

I must have seemed so crazy asking people in zone chat, groups, and others if they too heard voices . . .

Wow, that's awesome. I've had that item in my bank for a year but never equipped it. Soul of Dusk said, "When I get free I'll tear your mortal shell to pieces." when I equipped it. Sick.

Lord Warden's soul is fused into the Grievous Ward, and on rare occasions when he pulls the shield out he'll taunt you, or claim you'll have angered Molag Bal. The Grievous Ward isn't just a shield, it's quite literally Lord Warden.

Honestly I didn't even notice the shield talking ever, thanks for pointing it out, and yes I agree there should be more stuff with unique enchants (like health rec on a shield as you mentioned).

May I suggest a few more?

Weapons:

Max Stats:
Max magicka OR Max Stamina OR Max Health
Max Magicka + Max Stamina
Max Magicka + Health
Max Stamina + Health
(Lower values though, like Hakeijo, for hybrids?)

- Cost reductions:
same combinations as above

- Crit Bonus:
Critical Damage dealt is 2,5%(1h) / 5,0%(2h) higher

- Damage dealt:
Basically a "mini berserk", which increases all Dmg done, by 1,5% (1h) and 3,0% (2h).
This is interesting to magicka chars, using 2 weapons, and can't put the DW Skill tree to use.

- Double Set Bonus:
This simply makes the weapon count as 2 set pieces, allowing 2h weapon users to go for 5/5/2 set pieces like DW and S/B users can.




Shields:

- Max Stats:
Same as above

- Recovery:
Same as above

- Cost Reductions:
Same as above

- resistance:
Magic (incl. all elemental resistances)
Physical, (including Poison and Disease)
Crit resistance (works just like the trait)


Jewelry:

Max Stats:
Not sure about the amount, but should be worth to use instead of a Spell/Physical Dmg Glyph (maybe 1.5k Magicka or Stamina?).
Also, depending on the unique enchantment, the trait should be a fitting one.
Let's say its a 1500magicka enchant, then it's either an arcane trait or healthy trait it drops with, 0% chance for a Stamina one.
- Ult Cost Reduction:
Same as with Max Stat
- Ult Dmg increase:
Same as with Max Stat



Now, where to get these?

1 ) Barely used Daily
Lets start with my favourite idea:
Remember that new undaunted daily we got, where we need to visit a random public dungeon and let's say capture 5 ghosts + kill a boss?
Right, almost forgot about it, too, since rewards are so disappointing.
Why not let the rewarded chest guarantee a set piece with unique enchantments drop of the zone you did the dungeon daily in?

Example:
Let's say you got this daily and have to do a dungeon in Auridon.
You finish the dungeon. Now, the chest you are rewarded with, has a piece of either the "Elegance" , the "Veiled Heritance" or "Twin Sisters" Set and it comes guaranteed with one of the above mentioned enchantments.
Additionally, let it be the same quest for everyone, so people can do those together, and you can do it multiple times (1x with each of your chars that day).


2 ) Group Dungeon's named Items:
Next we have Boss specific, named rewards.

Example: For those farming Crypta of hearts, remember the first boss (Siniel) dropping a Staff in precise? Give that staff a GUARANTEED, random unique enchantment.
The same goes for other named rewards.

3 ) Random spawned Chests
(overland + Group Dungeons)
Give chests you find a 50% chance to drop the item set piece inside, with a unique enchantment.

Examples:
Opening a chest in Wrotghar, possibly gives you a Briarheart Sword with a Stamina Cost Reduction enchantment.

Opening a chest on tempest island possibly gives a Necklace of overwhelming surge with a Max Magicka enchantment.

4 ) The Golden Vendor in Cyrodiil:
Every week she offers 2 random item set pieces you can find overland and in public Dungeons. These are also with guaranteed unique enchants.

5 ) Tel Var Vendors:
A New Random chest which always contains
1x weapons
1x shields
1x jewelry
of Random Sets from any group dungeon or overland zone, where all come with unique enchants

That's friggin' awesome. Yeah, a bunch of these NPCs (especially bosses) have unique taunts that would work well in game. Could you imagine in PVP or Dualing, that, if you killed someone- you'd hear the opponent's weapon taunt?

You can get the shield after completing Imperial City Prison as a quest reward OR you can get it as a random drop in ICP (if you've already broken it down).

I have never seen this drop from trash or any other boss but the warden himself from the chest at end. i think i have probably 100 clears on VICP

Man, I swear I pulled it from a chest one time. I could be wrong, though. Perhaps it was the normal "Leeching Shield"? But the Grevious Ward DOES drop from Lord Warden randomly when you defeat him. It doesn't necessarily have to be for the first-time completion of ICP.

Currently tanks are debuffing bosses, buffing groups, self-healing, aggro-ing, and DPSing (in certain cases). I'm guessing the tide is going to shift due to role burn-out and the hint that Rich Lambert gave during an interview.

That being said:

5pc Leeching Plate, 5pc Bahraha's Curse, and 2pc Monster Set (Valkyn, Grothdarr, Sentinel, etc) is a really fun set up on a hybrid DK tank.

Leeching and Bahraha both synergize well with a DK's DoT build and the passive "World in Ruin" (especially since they both heal you for 100% of the DoTs) and they both proc Valkyn, Grothdarr, Sentinel.

Well what do you know, it does talk. Though it sounds a little far off given it's coming from my shield. Also, after it talked once, I couldn't get him to speak up again.

Yeah, he'll speak randomly. Usually, it's when you first draw your sword and shield. It almost seems like there's a two minute cooldown for his banter.

I was hopeful when they made it so you could have more than one "unique" item on your character, and yet the Grievous Ward is still 1 per character/bank.

Grievous Ward is actually the quest reward for completing "Summary Execution" the quest you begin by speaking to Lyranth at the beginning of Imperial City Prison.

The shield also has unique dialogue when you run ICP with him equipped.

He's so petty and ineffectual, he's one of my favourite items.

I refuse to decon mine just because I like having a dungeon fun run where I can take him out and he'll sass me the whole time.

Oh, hey! My old thread has been rezzed. Yeah- we still haven't seen any unique items quite like this shield. Still waiting for a Masque of Clavicus Vile to talk smack to me while I wear it.

Or a Pendant of Azura to encourage me in a belittling way: "Surely, Mortal, you can do better than that..."
