I can confirm that 25ms pings for 'yanks' is pretty much a myth in ESO.

In other games? Absolutely. In ESO you're lucky if it drops below 3 digits at all, much less for any stable length of time. The county I live in (Grant County, WA) has some of the best web connectivity in the state, with almost the entire county on 100 meg fiber, right into the home, but my pings are consistently 150-300 on any given day. I've yet to see double digit pings in ESO, beyond the occasional spike downward that lasts a second or two before bouncing back up.

In contrast, if I fire up something like WoW, RIFT, STO, etc... my latency is 23 or so. The only time I see triples is when there's a network issue somewhere.

Pretty sure NZ uses a more direct link to the US across the southern cross cable which is good news for some of us, however atm I'm at 250ms doing nothing in pvp, serious combat its 350-400 which is a joke unless the servers completely void of life.
Once Im hooked on to fibre it should be significantly less but its not even the lag its more the inconsistency.

I don't know if it was mentioned, but ZOS didn't give away a million dollars. A sweepstakes company did that ZOS used. That million can't be used as comparison to the money ZOS can spend on servers.

I'm sure if the analytical report had proof of a need, they'd probably do it.

I wonder if ZOS will ever do anything to improve the latency issues in Cyrodiil. If players in the US are even in the 250ms range that's pretty appalling. I realise Cyrodiil is a large space with a lot going on but honestly when the only PvP in this game is unplayable it makes me question why I'm still subbed.

With battlegrounds coming in soon us oceanic players are really at a disadvantage when it comes to pvp and overall quality of life in ESO and could really use an oceanic server. Is this to much to ask for in this day an age? you give away a million dollars but cant and wont bring up an oceanic server...if ESO is trying to make an impact in the mmo space it needs to draw in players and have a substantial player base, I'm sorry but I dont see it going anywhere if it cant do this simple thing.

How will you be at a disadvantage by having more people to play with as it stands now then if you were on your own server and only had Oceanic people?

You ever tried to kill a good kid who has 50ping with a ping of 400+?

I would be unable to play ESO without my Aussie friends. No better *** talkers in the game, so no sorry deal with the lag for my amusement.

All zos would need to do is spend as much as they need for an oce server, if there isn't many players, then don't make a heavy one? I know it would attract a lot of players locally cause I'm sick of suffering from 340, 360, ping.
