Mageblade build for VMSA advice

My current build is as follows:
5-1-1 for undaunted passives
5 TBS
3 Willpower jewelry
2 Valkyn Skoria
Random Destro/Resto (will replace w/ maelstrom when I get them)

Destro bar
1. Swallow soul
2. Impale
3. Sap Essence
4. Elemental Blockade
5. Merciless Resolve
U. Elemental Rage

Resto bar
1. Harness Magicka
2. Siphoning Strikes
3. Twisting Path
4. Degeneration
5. Healing Ward
U. Veil of Blades

Obviously this is a dot build and the biggest fault is the ground based dots that can be moved out of. However it's been effective in most dungeons. I plan on switching Skoria w/ Grothdarr once I get the shoulder in a medium and a good trait.
I was wondering if anyone has run something similar and found something better, specifically with gear, but if you've had better luck with different skills feel free to share.

NOTE: I haven't run vmsa with this build yet, nor have I completed it at all. I understand it'll take time to memorize the mechanics but mostly I want advice on the build and gear to make it as strong as possible before I run it again.

Gear:
All light, more regen, the resource pools won't help you much and nobody is there to give you back resources
5pc Julianos/bsw/scathing/TBS (I like julianos best)
3pc willpower/infal
2pc iceheart monster (sheild plus damage yes, in vMA this is very good)

Bars
1: destro
crippling grasp (this is a much for the major expedition as the dot)
wall of elements (put it under portals while they spawn)
swallow soul (or funnel whatever morph you have)
magelight (for first 7 arenas) crushing shock for interupt on the last 2
Harness magica (yes you do want your shield on you main bar, trust me we only did the resto destro thing back when harness was not a universal shield and we then had to switch bars to shield it was harder then despite that being pre-huge nb heal nerfs let me tell you)
ulti - meteor (your main ulti for killing things when they most need it)

2: also destro (you don't use this bar much)
sap essence
impale (use for boss execution basically only on bosses that are stunned)
wall of elements
magelight
siphoning strikes (this is really what this bar is for swap over and hit it when you get low on magic)
ulti - veil of blades (for mitigation and aoe damage when there are too many adds like in times on arena 5)

I made a build video for a magicka nigthblade solely for completing VMA. I spent a lot of time in there with high dps builds, and with destro/resto builds on my NB and I couldn't complete it. Then I made my build as simple as possible with Harness Magicka on both bars, and that changed everything for me. I feel it's a really forgiving builds, as you can get away with a lot of mistakes as long as you use Harness Magicka in your rotation. Maybe it can help you.
