It felt like I got one-shot, but I guess that was a DoT that I just kept standing in like a moron...

The DoT does quite a lot of damage and there's more than one pool. If there's lots of people around with skills firing off it's pretty hard to see, but if you see the giant arm-sweeping guys they make those pools.

You're not an idiot if you just stood there. I've been at a few dolmens where it's been next to impossible to see any sort of red circle due to the amount of people there. In fact, when I'm using my mage some are so busy, I just spam my execution skill because it's a waste doing anything else. With the amount of skills firing off It's like Las Vegas on steroids at times.

Very true, and with the lag that sometimes happens, you get stuck standing in overlapping red circles.

Yeah those new big guys hurt but even without the ground telegraph their animation for their big attack is slow enough that you can see it coming and get behind them to keep pounding pretty easily. Toe-to-toe is not a good idea with them.
