YES! ZOS plans on guild halls someday, and answers to much more!
We felt that it was important to provide players with options for how they acquire their homes, whether they want to spend in-game currency or buy them using Crowns. Almost all of the homes can be bought with either currency, with only a few exceptions that are available only via Crowns.
The crown store exclusive island is huge, and looks amazing, but it is classified as Manor house size, so it has the same player and item caps as the other Manors you can purchase with gold. The short of it is that Crown Store exclusive homes work in a very similar way to how the Crown Store already functions with Limited Time Offers on special cosmetic items. As with all Crown Store activity, we abide strictly by our “do no harm” mantra, and we don’t ever want there to be a “pay-to-win” scenario in Elder Scrolls Online.

Ugh. I hate how players who earn in-game currency are second-class citizens to players who buy with Crowns. All houses should have an in-game acquisition path.
It may not be a big deal to you, but it is to me and many others. People that want to push back on content monetization because ZOS will take it as far as they can. Eventually, the community will have to draw the line. Why do you try to make a big deal of something that is not? People that want to support the game in other ways than subscription needs to have the proper incentives.

My expectation for an MMO is that the best and most exclusive items come from in-game accomplishments. The Crown store should be about convenience, not exclusivity. It should provide an option for players to obtain certain items, but it should not be the only way to obtain highly exclusive items.
