A real barber shop instead of the wardrobe crown store.

This is the 3rd time I post a thread like this. Why does eso have a micro-transaction hairstyle system where all other MMOs out there have a real barber shop,a shop where you simply walk into and pay IN-GAME gold to choose diffrent hairstyles and cosmetics.

Don't get me wrong ZOS need some profit but they should've added the defult hairstyles in the game for free(in-game gold) and the the other cosmetics in the crown store.Similar to mounts we have 4 mounts which can be bought with gold while all the other mounts are for the real money.

What I suggest is add a barber shop in cities, it will add imerssion and satsfaction to the players. All the hairstyles which were in the charcter creation UI should be free with some other cosmetics and the epic stuff should be in the crown store.

I HOPE A ZOS DEV READS THIS POST AND CONSIDER DOING IT

How do you compensate those who have already purchased some hairstyles via crown store? I think this is an important hurdle that must be crossed before we can advocate for the in-game barber system.

I'm with you though. I was shocked when I found out it would be crown store exclusive. So Zos.

I wanted an in-game barber shop, but that ship has long sailed unfortunately. They knew how desperate people were for an appearance change and they cashed in on it...

Do all other MMOs have an in-game barber that only charges gold?

The only other one I play is Guild Wars 2, and that uses a similar system in that you have to pay real-money to change your hair style or appearance, but it's even more restrictive because you don't unlock a style - you have to pay each time you want to change it. (Although you have access to all styles each time - so if you change it and then want another change again you can choose between all of them, not just your original one and the one you picked.)

Ultima Online, which I used to play, did sell it for gold, but that was before microtransactions had really been invented. They didn't charge real money for anything except the game, expansion packs and the subscription.

I bought the basic hair style pack in ESO and I actually really like the way it works. It was one of those things where I got it on the PTS because, hey, why not? And then found I missed the functionality when I went back to the regular server so I ended up buying it. I really like being able to change my hairstyle whenever I like, wherever I am. My main character will often have her hair down when she's in town and then put it into a pony tail or a bun when she's going into a dungeon or something. (Although sometimes I like to vicariously enjoy her being able to have her hair loose without it getting tangled in her weapons, or messed up during a fight.)

In that sense having to go to a shop in town and pay gold to change it would be a step back. (And fairly unrealistic - I can put my hair into a pony tail in 30 seconds for free.)

But maybe they could offer both? You pay gold to a barber in town to change your hair style once, or you buy the unlocks from the store for the added functionality of being able to change it any time you want.

I agree OP, I was hoping for something in game a little interaction, maybe some basic things for in game gold, I think they blew it big time on the barber transactions since there is no store, I come to a game to play a game not to play a store, if I want to play a store I will log onto Amazon LOL

I'm sure they have tools to refund items even if that is not the preferred route.

I agree with OP; they don't even have to take the packs out of the Crown Store, since there is still value to having them in Collections, able to change on the fly without a cost. Though I also agree that people who bought the packs on the premise there would not be an in-game barber should be compensated somehow.

Either way, a 'real' barber would be cool, and could be turned into a decent gold sink similar to mounts. This is one of the few things in the Crown Store that does not have limited in-game alternatives.

I don't see any reason why they couldn't still add a barber shop, even with the hairstyle pack in the CS.

I bought the pack and it wouldn't bother me if people who didn't own it could pay a barber with in-game gold to go change their hair. They'd have to pay every time they wanted a new hairstyle, travel to a town, and I could continue to do it for free and on the fly because I unlocked all the hairstyles with Crowns.

compensate? why would you need compensated if they did make this change?

and its not a bad idea, they could make it where you purchase hair style to own with crowns but you can change anytime with just ingame gold.

ESO lets you pay a small amount of real money to be able to change all of your characters' hairstyles for free, forever, and on the fly. It is an infinitely better system than any other MMO.

The Barber Shop problem would be solved if they charge Crowns OR a high amount of gold. I mean, charge 1000 crowns or 100.000 gold, for example. Now ppl would have gold option and everyone's happy.

I have already purchased the hair pack and if I was given back the crowns it would be fine for me!!
We need a cool barber shop indeed  Only with the default hairs though, the "shiny crown store ones" should stay there, but at least everyone would have the possibility to change their hair depending on their mood? Haha. Anyways, I agree with OP, a barber shop also makes the game more immersive!
