COMMANDER TAGS in Cyrodiil

I believe people of certain high Alliance rank should get some sort of recognition for all their hard work and hours they've put into playing their character and time spent in Cyrodiil on that specific character. So my suggestion is to add Commander Tags.

These tags are optional but it would introduce a better strategic way of organizing your Alliance and it would help new players knowing where to go and who to follow (ZERG WARNING). Again it would be optional, so you can turn On or turn Off your Commander tag if you don't want the attention of having your tag be shown on the map. The tag itself can only be seen in your Alliance map.

Now i know people will be saying that these tags would be everywhere. But these tags would only be limited to people with Alliance rank 40+ or higher. Anything above Alliance rank General. Less than 1% have a character above Alliance rank 40.

Ranks mean absolutely nothing though. And considering how many bad players with high ranks there is, I'd rather not see such a feature implemented.

This actually is a pretty good idea. That said if you've spent any significant amount of time on a server it should be pretty obvious who you should be listening to. Unfortunately the people with good info are often drowned out by haters (YOUR GUILD SUCKS BRAH), that one guy in every alliance who yells at people for Zerging (YOU'RE ZERG TRASH BRAH), and the newbie 14 year old who thinks they deserve to have every known guild listen to him and his no CP main character.

If I wasn't certain I would create an angry tire fire I could rattle off the 20 or so people on XBox who control both main campaigns in all 3 alliances that 80% of the players already report to even if they don't realize it.

It takes almost a year to get up Rank 50. Highly doubt you have been sitting repairing walls all that time :P

No, I like this idea. It makes it way easier to have a false flag spy relaying information on where high value targets are, and would make it far easier to get the grand overlord kill achievement. Or assassinate Emperors, if that information made it to the map.

I'm still in the 30s after a year and a half. If you work full time and actually PVP in PVP there is nothing quick about it.

Players with the rank of Grand Overlord do get recognition.

In the form of another player being awarded with an achievement if he kills them.

I'm Rank 41 and it has taken me almost 2 years now o_o

One other thing, the best PVP leaders aren't always the best overall players. Many are just detail oriented people who don't mind putting their foot down. Often times the best PVPers don't have time for the politics. And man you better believe that there are some politics.

sorry to have a go at you- but seriously cyrodil needs more than just a title to help it. it needs revamped terrains, goal posts for alliances to get to, incentive based team quests within in the map, rescue/escort missions, all types of help.

plus it needs to fix its bloody lag and server issues.

Hey, I for one am grateful for the repair specialists. I rarely have to worry about fixing walls whether it be after sieging a keep or during a siege. So cheers to them!

I agree . . . Do you know how the Imperial City is doing in terms of popularity and functionality these days?

Also, I've been suggesting that ZOS overhaul PvP to be more strategic and tactical. I think what the OP is also hinting at is that high rank players be beacons for hot spots on the map that could direct faction forces. However, there needs to be a system put in place that would be hard to obtain so that REALLY PvP leaders can have more of an impact in directing meaningful engagements in Cyrodil.

Sometimes I feel PvP is a bit like herding cats even in a PvP guild, but if each faction had a system of achievements and objectives infused into the Campaign it could be easier to organize groups and direct multi-pronged attacks and counter measures to those attacks.

Then again, part of the appeal of a open world MMO is that nobody likes to be told what to do.

This could send out the wrong signals and new player might end up following someone just farming AP in mass .

I think it would be a great idea but as many have stated ranks are kinda pointless. I almost solo'd a grand warlord emp but died thanks to not being able to use my ultimate (fortunately someone shot him with an arrow inject after he t-bagg'd me so he died lol).

For the amount of *** whispers I've received and the thousand times every 50man zerg chaised me down from brindle to drakelowe it is more like a disadventage to be grand overlord. Every time you join cyrodiil you need to perform at 200% if not every zerger whispers you how *** your family is. And the worst thing about it.... 10v1 is what zergers call 1v1.

Grand Overlord is not a farmable archievment. You need around 210 days gameplay to archieve it. You will get it slowly and yes, no archievement in the game takes more effort to get. No vMOL, No Flawless, after 20plus runs you are suposed as learning human to be able to finish this.

Love what you said. It definitely takes time. I'm half a rank away from Warlord. Took forever.

I got grand overlord 3 weeks ago on console. Took me a year and a half. But yeah, i wish there was more to it than just a title lol. Perhaps a special mount and costume or something.
