Options to hide more than just helmet

Because there is no difficulty slider and I am not an elite player, I find it pretty important to keep my char in full armor. I am grateful that I can hide the helmet but wish there were options to hide other bits of the armor as well. I play a fragile light armor character and would love to hide the shoulder bits and sometimes the gloves. Even the pants maybe – a short tunic coming down to mid-thigh looks adorable. I can imagine that some players would enjoy hiding their top sometimes as well for a barbarian or cute bra only look.

I know there are costumes and I gratefully use them quite a bit, but I would also really appreciate the ability to show off some of the nice armor – just without all the pieces showing sometimes and not taking a survivability penalty.

Since we already have the hide helmet option, I would imagine that adding hide options for each of the other slots would not be a big challenge.

If we can't craft skins to cover armour we like the stats of but not the look, that could be an option.

Costumes don't work for me. Mainly 'cause I haven't found (m)any I like. My Redguard Nightblade girl looks like a bad Drag Artist in the wedding dress, for example. My Argonian was okay with the Mannimarco outfit; he's the only one it suited. I can't see him in a mid-thigh tunic with hidden pants though, it would be anything but adorable.

I'd like to show those tattoos or body paintings. Usually the go to costume here is the one pirate's outfit. Not really a fan of those pants but you do what you gotta do.

We don't need people running around naked in raids and PvP. Hiding helm is sufficient. Anything else is a big huge no.

Same reason we don't have the lame dancer outfits SWTOR has. Those costumes are for children.

I just want to be able to hide the Helmet and Shoulders.

I know it is too much to ask to hide those flippity flappity panels on the sides of the hips, but I will throw that out there too.

Also, if they ever open up all the crafting materials to all levels, there are some skirts that can be worn from the Argonian Medium Armors in the 20's that look really nice and still give you the Legs armor bonus.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

But keep your hands on the desk, please ;)

I suppose the idea has some extent of sense, I don't need it tho.
    When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;

Hee! I would be happy to promise never to go on a raid or do pvp if I can hide the bits of armor I want to hide. <3

I would like a "Hide Belt" option. Some of the belts don't look very good, or float out in front of my character.

Yes. See mostly I want to hide the silly shoulder wingie flappers but if we can hide one or two items, why not just provide the freedom and flexibility for players to hide whatever they prefer. More choices is good because you don't have to avail yourself of them. Yet those who want to can.

I figure groups, guilds, pvp'ers can come to any mutual agreement they want regarding use of the option if they see fit.

    :)

Of course this thread would take its natural "interesting" turn but it has merit, especially for shoulder armor as @Nestor said, though I think those odd hip flaps, as @Enemy-of-Coldharbour wants, would be more of an issue. They appear to be integral to the armor itself rather than a simple matter of hiding an armor piece.

I post this screenshot again because it's a good example of clever character customization using a body tattoo and the Dark Shaman costume.

    Tattoos%20and%20Dark%20Shaman-1_zpsqw7frgwh.png

It's also a great case for being able to hide portion of the costumes beyond the helmet, such as those bizarre shoulder and arm pieces.

I would like to be able to at least hide gloves, shoulders and shoes too, for both armor and outfits. Especially the shoes. My Bosmer doesn't like shoes.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

I'd be content with hide shoulders and hip flaps. I use costumes most of the time now because I can't hide those pieces. I'm not a fan of the over-sized floating shoulders and hips... on a robe, for example! A ROBE... :P

Everybody looks like a bad drag artist in that wedding dress. Some nice costumes out there though, and you can also wear disguises once you've done the quest.

I've sort of grown accustomed to the hip flaps, but the floating giant awkward shoulder pieces still annoy me. As far as I can tell, the issue seems to be that the pieces don't scale in size based on your character size, so large characters can wear grothdar, illambris, kena, etc and is appears to sit nicely on their shoulder, but when my petite breton magsorc wears them they are enormous and float a solid 6 inches off her shoulder. This is lame.

I'd be fine with hiding stuff like the shoulders and belts since they do indeed look ugly sometimes, but can you imagine what towns would look like if everyone could hide their chest/leg pieces?
