New Player needs PvE Dragon Knight build

I’ve been start playing eso as DK for few weeks.

At first I played Magicka DK but I found I like melee more. So I did respec to 2 Handed and Bow.

At lvl 20, My skill bar looks like this.

http://eso-skills.com/skill?z=FD9BE6Js@DIU+OFU%1zBKNi@DGY70Tg

It is based on this leveling build. http://deltiasgaming.com/eso-stamina-dragonknight-dps-build/#leveling

But I find it’s harder for play. Dies easily against stronger enemies(I dont know not know how they called. They have purplish HP bar. Not the dungeon boss). when there are two of them. And most importantly I do not like character going in to translucent(by dragon’s blood).

So I want to try different build. I want to drop dragon’s blood but still viable one. And I find I like bow so I’ll keep this one.

I don’t mind respecing,so I can drop two handed if I need to.

I enjoy solo Questing(And crafting). I want to have viable build but I don’t need mini max build because I do not have plan to play end game content by soloing. I play to enjoy story/lore of ESO most of the time(And I like crafting).

Or maybe I should drop the DK entirely and start templar....templar is tempting...javelin look so coool and seems no need to become translucent.

Please give me your suggestion.

Keep playing what's fun. Since you like bow, keep that on one bar.. play around with what you like on the other bar. For PvE and solo content most people are running dual wield instead of 2H. Dual wield is nice because you have an ability designed for single target (flurry) and another for mobs (tornado).

My suspicion is the deaths are likely caused by either standing in red or not blocking. Whenever possible, try to not stand directly in front of the enemies... and if you see a red circle forming roll dodge out of it; if you can't then block (block absorbs 50% of damage). Also make sure you have a food buff active - it's free stats!.. gnaw on some of those sweetrolls lying around

It's also nice to have a heal in case you get in trouble. Instead of dragon's blood you could use igneous shields (not really a heal, but similar effect), potions, or take the healing morphs for flurry, whip or searing strike. The "right" answer is to go into cyrodill and unlock vigor (although that involves the PvP zone).

Overall, you are level 20 and mostly interested in solo stuff. So, play around with everything... find what's fun for you and what works best. Heck, start a templar, or sorc or nightblade; you have 8 slots... if you get hooked, you'll likely end up with several characters anyway. Keep watching deltia, alcast and sypher for advice on how to play.

I would definitely level up your 2h skill line because its great for PvP and you can also run it on your back bar instead of a bow for solo play. 2h skill also has a great heal in Rally/Momentum (the last skill unlocked).

I would also run DW as your main DPS bar, there is really no better option for stamina builds. You have the twin slashes which can also be morphed into a HoT skill, you have rapid strikes which can also be morphed into HoT skill, and you have steel tornado which is your AoE mob clear/execute skill.

So, for example, my stamDK front bar is:
Venom Claw, Rapid Strikes, Steel Tornado, Rending Slashes, Vigor/Flames Of Oblivion - Now you can replace vigor/foo for another skill (i just run vigor as my self sustaining heal), and you can use the healing morphs of rapid strikes/rending slashes if you think you need to.

If you use a similar DW bar your back bar can be 2h and have the following skills:
Crit Rush, Execution/Reverse Slice, Noxious Breathe, Igneous Shield, Rally - Rally would be your Heal over time/weapon damage buff that you use before every fight, crit rush is your gap closer, noxious is your skill to inflict major fracture on enemies (they take more damage), Igneous for the damage shield/boost to heals received, and reverse slice for another execute ability with small splash damage.

So your starting initiation for regular mobs could be:
Igneous -> Rally -> Crit Rush -> Noxious -> Bar Swap to DW -> Steel Tornado. Most mobs should be dead by that point, or at execute health range to continue using steel nado.

If there is a harder enemy in the mix, like a mini boss or something, I apply my DoTs to them - Venom Claw and Rending - and use Rapid Strikes to blast their HP down.

Sorry for the long post, but try it out and see how you like it! When you get to a more comfortable place with your DK, you can dump the 2h skills and its heal for a Bow for better AoE damage.

Dont over think it at level 20. Your goal should be to level everything, then you can decide on an endgame build once you get some CP under your belt. If you want to play PVE as a stamina based DK, then DW is far better than 2H. Bow is going to be your typical back bar. I would try to level all 3, and also try to get most of your class skills to morph. As a stamina player, pay particular attention to Venemous claw, Noxious Breath, Flames of Oblivion, and Igneous weapons. These are the skills with obvious stamina morphs. You will also want to make sure you level out your weapon lines and fighters guild lines.
