STAMBLADE BUILD- dreugh king slayer

Wanting a bit of advice.

I am looking to improve my stamblade build, especially for PVP as I always seem to die in a second and cannot survive 1v1.

I run dual wield weapons and bow. I am farming Sriggans at the moment however I do have gold dreugh king slayer armour and jewellery i will run with it. Alot of people say DKS is rubbish but I don't understand why as surely the constant major brutality is a great benefit as I don't have access to rally?

Any thoughts or other suggestions? I don't want to run these proc sets though as I think they are already ruining PVP.

You're going to need a 2h for rally for sure for the burst heal. This may be why you're dying as quick as you say. Your other choice can be dual wield if you want to be a more ganker set up, or a bow for a more well rounded build with great mobility from dodge rolling.

Yeah, DKS isn't a great set IMO as there are so many sources of Major Brutality such as potions, Flying Blade, any DK nearby using Igneous Weapons and notably Rally.

Most people use Rally because it's a great heal but not using this (nor using DKS) won't be the reason why you're dying so quickly if you're being literal by saying "I always seem to die in a second".

How much critical resistance do you have, are you using Shuffle/Mirage and are you blocking enough?

If you're not being literal then switch out your Bow for a 2H and bring in Rally. Sure, you'll lose the DoT from Poison Injection or the range from Snipe but you'll be able to have the burst heal from Rally which will save your life.

Think my crit res is about 2350 running all impen. I use shuffle when I remember. I do try and block but as soon as I dont and try to attack a second later I die with about 5 skills on my recap- i have no idea how they can through so many skills in such a short time lol

If DKS gave the bonuses that Rattlecage does, I would use it. Unfortunately it doesn't give you 229 WD, and it doesn't come in robust rings.

    Forget about that.

Go for windowmaker, viper and selenes/velidreth. Also don't forget to equip some nasty poison. Get yourself some popocorn for the incoming hate in the whispers.

Thats what I dont understand- if I have basic WD damage of say 3000 DKS would then give me another 600 constant? Leaving me to use stam potions

fo NB I would go ganker or its pretty much waste of potential.
Also, best friend of and NB ganker is double take. Long duration of evasion + 4 seconds of major expedition that does not break stealth on cast.
Rally is great for 2 reasons. First of all, you can pop it and remain in stealth mode. Second, it gives you major brutality and burst heal.
I think that good ganking require a bow. You can have enemy's healing reduced via snipe, from stealth it will also stun them, poison arrow will apply dot and proc viper. If needed, use ambush and one of executioner. Many targets will go down like this.

Be flexible with other sets you use. When defending keep from wall against zerg, you might even use VD as other 5pc set.
When just ganking I recommend another proc set. I find vicecannon of venom as nice one. Even marksman or archer's mind would suffice if you want to be mostly bow NB ganker.

For more of a scout for your group, darkstride set is very nice. Fiord can help you escape if necessary, night terror will lower radius of detection by additional 2 meters... Anyway stay flexible, use addons to swap gear fast just before fight.

I run a stamblade with DKS/Toothrow/Velidreth for pve/vet trials... last night with SPC and combat prayer on, I hit 4470 WD and 64% crit. I don't feel that's a bad set at all :)

You do vet-trials with this setup? May I ask how much dps you do with that?

I know, I wish they made DKS just as awesome.

Enough to beat hel ra hard mode. On PS4 so no access to readout add ons and haven't done a dps test since the 1tam update. I'd estimate 25k or better. Ive run TBS gold and VO on my stamblade and just watching my damage numbers, I hit harder with this setup.

I tried lots of different sets of gear on my Stamblade, one of which was Dreugh king, yes the static major brutality dmg boost is nice, but in all honesty it was the worst set I tried.

In PVP you will probably find Spriggans does far more dmg than Dreugh king, its nice having the extra weapon damage, but if it is not getting through any defence is totally useless.

I also tried Bow-DW and Bow-2H and definately Bow-2H Maul came out on top, that is using Rally not only for its damage boost with major brutality but also it HEALS, it has a dot heal and a final big heal, it last 30 secs so it no real big deal to keep up, especially if on the Bow bar.

Viper set is cheesy but does work However it is going to get nerfed or a major rework very soon, so unless its easy to get for you I personally would not bother.

No need for Gold armor in PVP, the extra stats from Epic is so small it is just not worth it, although Gold weapons are very much worth it, and in all honesty trying to set up against proc sets is, well. a waste of time, you will have to be very lucky and defensive to stop anybody wearing a double or triple proc gear set up, so dont waste time and money to try and avoid it, Proc sets are broke and they are going to get fixed, very soon.

What I ended up settling on was no proc sets, although I do change some pieces around from time to time and I also run a StamSorc as well as StamBlade

If you want to play the Stealth one hit 'ganker' the proc sets IS the way to go. I personally prefer the more skill based approach.
Currently I use 5 heavy set, 2 medium, 5 set Black Rose the resource regen buff is pretty powerful and you get static weapon dmg increase, other pieces I change around, but base set is, 5 Black Rose, 5 Spriggans (3 jewellry, 2 armor) all armor Impenetrable and glyphed stamina, weapons are Leki Bow and Leki 2H Maul, Gold upgrade, both Sharpened, Bow with Poison Glyph, Maul with weapon damage, that set up does just about all you need, decent damage, plenty of armor and regen, I never have resource issues.

I have tried 2 set Veli + 3 agility jewellry it also works ok, but Spriggans definitely comes out better. OFC this depends on your playstyle, but this works out very well for me, but I also use the same gear for my StamSorc and Stamplar, yes I do die now and then from Stupid Proc sets, but your not going to stop that no matter what gear you wear.
