Magblade

Need help with sets and skills for a magicka nightblade. Mainly used for pledges and trials. Currently running 5 julianos and 5 elegant/or 5 mothers sorrow. The damage is good. Surviability is trash. Any pointers and suggested skills I should be using?

I use 5 tbs with staffs, 4 aether (jewelry and one body piece) and 2 grothdarr/infernal guardian/valkyn skoria/illambris on my dunmer magblade. Got me flawless vma on third run with grothdarr

and what you need to know about magblades is that weaving with siphoning attacks is mandatory. If you use light/medium attacks in between, you shouldn't have issues with resources at all.

What mundus stones do you use with tbs?

My strong guess is Thief + Shadow as a DD, because it's the meta.

I play all 4 classes as magicka DDs and even if there are maybe somewhat better sets dpswise for 4-men instances (Burning Spell Weave for DK, Sorc and Templar, Scathing Mage for NB), it's really hard to beat TBS in trials and the additional 1k health + stamina is pretty nifty for survivability. My strong guess is that TBS is almost on par in boss fights in 4-men-instances if your tank and healer has Warhorn slotted. This usually won't happen in PUGs, sadly.

For MSA I rate the combination of TBS + Iceheart the best possible combination for easy mode.

TBS is still the best all-around-set imho.

With TBS + a tank with Ebon set, you should be over 18k-19k life in an instance or trial group.
