Magical Stank Build

Like the name, eh? Introducing... the Magicka Sorcerer Tank Build.

Armor: Necropotence 5 pc, 5 pc Eternal Yokada, 2 pc Engine Guardian (to activate Necropotence and bc its a good set)

Goal: Insane max magicka, so that hardened ward is MASSIVE. Long range taunt and ball of lightning to kite bosses around into daedric minefields and liquid lightning for decent DPS and AoE damage. All points, or as many as possible, into magicka, in order to get that damage shield as high as possible, as well as increase spell damage. Absorb magic to reflect spells and lower the cost of blocking (which will be used sparingly, try to ball of lightning around the boss and out of AoEs to set up minefield), and dark deal as a heal and way to regain stamina if its getting low (might change to the magicka morph, but until i get a sorc to 50 cant really test this out much).

1h/shield bc tanking and resto staff for the heavy attacks

Thoughts? Might it work?

    Not sure if this build would work well for high-end content as you typically want the boss to NOT move so DPS can always hit them and can focus on their rotation, but it is definitely interesting.

    This would be extremely fun with your friends. Wouldn't stand a chance in group finder I would think.

    I might replace my backbar with destro and mines with Wall of Elements, as that is more consistent damage... do you think that might work better? As I have yet to actually try the build, I'm not sure how much difficulty ill have trying to get the boss to activate the mines. If it takes me a long time to get all of the mines to activate, wall of elements might deal more damage anyways, and I don't need to move the boss around as much.

    I might also replace ball of lightning with shuffle from med armor skill line, depending on how useful ball of lightning is. I like the idea of taunting the boss and teleporting circles around him as he sits in a pool of bombs and lightning, but... idk how practical it is.

    Or, I could say yolo and carry on as is and hope for the best.

    Upon further review, mines > wall of elements. I'll still consider replacing bolt with shuffle though.

    Also, if you can imagine playing this build, would you say that the other morph of minefield might be worh considering? If it spawns three in a line that instantly arm, you might be able to spawn three straight in front of the boss, teleport in front of it, then have it slowly walk through the mines... the linear shape might be better than the circular one... i've heard too that bosses can't take damage from two of these mines at once. can anyone tell me if this is true?

    Bosses will only take damage from one mine if they trigger all 3. They changed the daedric tomb morph too. They do not form in a line anymore, it's a small triangle of mines now.
