No dislike option

I know that at Zenimax when someone has an idea you either think its ok, think its great, think its awesome....but we in the real world sometimes dislike things, especially when they are obviously stupid. So on that note any chance of having a dislike option added to the forum posts?

We had it originally. It might have been called Disagree. It was removed from the boards after a short period of time.

Then LOL became the De-Facto Dislike, that was removed from the Boards because people were using it to Troll.

    So, probably not.

Besides, if your going to disagree with someone, you should state what you are disagreeing with and why. Post your Rebuttal, don't just click a button that does not really mean anything.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Well many people cannot take knowing that you disagree with them. Can't very well have someone getting their feelings hurt or anything. ;)

Stop being lazy and type out your opinion and form an argument. Like this...

Disagree. Buttons are for people who are too lazy to type out an opinion and form and argument.

Or should I use your words and say the thread is "obviously stupid"?

Give people the option to be negative, and they WILL BE negative. It's in the average internet-goers nature.

It's better to not have a "dislike" option anyways. It allows for more constructive conversations rather than just rewarding herding behavior. Heck, you can't even see how many "awesome", "Insightful", or "agree" a post has now until you hover your mouse over said post, meanwhile before, during the beta that is; they were always shown regardless of mouse position and adding to that it also had a "dislike" and "lol" option available for the users to pick from too. Lets just say, the forums back then were filled with less constructive conversations and growing more and more problematic each day, to say the least.

It's better the way it is now, in my opinion. You don't want a dislike option as it will just open a pandora's box of issues shown during the beta stages of the forums.

Just do like everyone else, quote them then insult them. Then they insult you back, and it goes on for 50 pages.

We used to have a disagree button back in the beta days.

Most people disliked it and ZOS removed it in February of 2014 ...

Insightful currently means either insightful or "funny" to replace the original LOL, which ended up meaning both lol I think your post is funny in a good way and lol your post is stupid and I feel sad for your parents.

exactly, and that is the way it should be, it's what is normal and proper of a sound mind.
people abused the "disagree" and the "lol" so it was removed, and i am very glad it was removed.

I do not think that there needs to be any change.

I think if you want to disagree or you dislike someones post, you should take the time to enter your own post explaining why you dislike or disagree with what the person has said. Just ticking a box to say you disagree or dislike their post without giving your reasons is rude and lazy.

The word 'insightful' is one of those wonderfully ambiguous words that can be taken in so many different ways. It can mean that what you said was brilliant and moving and really made an impact on the person. Or it could also mean that the person believes you are so full of it that your eyes are brown. :D

    Nah...

People who love it have a button.
People who agree with it have a button.
People who don't care either way do nothing.
People who dislike/disagree can post an opposing view...

    Works well enough.

When you disagree with someone you can do several things.
    • Write a post about that topic, with your view on it and why you disagree with it.
    • Skip topic, don't waste time on it.
    • just write L2P like 1337 would do.
    • Nape OP scrub, its virtual way to T-bag him
