Mages Guild levelling

Siriana_IthilRakka
Is there some secret to levelling the Mages Guild? I am C70, have completed the mages guild main quest and picked up every single lore book I have found and my mages guild level is 6. This seems to be excessively slow and I am wondering if I am just.. missing something?

Mage's Guild dailies located in your alliance capitol (judging from your avatar you're AD) and DLC or Cyrodiil lorebooks. There's some in Craglorn, too.

If you're on console there's no add-on to show you were they are but there's maps you can find online. It's not especially fun to ascertain which you do and do not already have collected, but they can be found in the Eidetic Memory tab in your Journal.

Mages Guild progression is all about the lorebooks and the new dailies. You get 5 Rep per Lorebook, 20 Rep for a completed Lorebook Collection, and 10 Rep for each daily "Madness in <X>" quest. Note that it's only Shalidor's Library lorebooks that count, and not anything from Eidetic Memory.

The best resource I have found for lorebooks is TESO Life: http://teso.mmorpg-life.com/lorebooks-locations-map/

Woops, sorry. It's been so long since I looked at the Eidetic tab that I just assumed the lorebooks were in there once you collected them. How odd - why would they not be in there.

Hmm, perhaps they're in their own tab. I'll have to look in-game.

Isn't it crazy that once you play through the Zones a few times you always find thieves troves because the tiniest flicker of "lorebook purple glow' catches your eye from 500 yards away, hidden behind some crate?

There's two sections of lorebooks. "Shalidor's Library" is the one that contains all the lorebooks that count for Mages Guild progression, so you can look in there for ones you don't have. These are the ones that glow purple in the world. "Eidetic Memory" is the section that contains all the other lorebooks (the ones that don't count for Mages Guild progression), and these are the ones that glow yellow in the world.

Ok so I guess the thing I was missing are the mages guild dailies and completed book collections? I will look into it! I appreciate the responses :) thanks!

Completing the lorebook collections is a big one. Just going book by book will feel really slow, but completing a collection fives you a big boost. Do that and the dailies and you'll get there in no time.

Not sure if this is widely known or suppose to happen.... but if you and your guild or buddies get in a group and one person grabs there daily and shares it with the group, everyone gets it. Rinse and repeat. I did 8 yesterday.

    Shsssssssss don't tell nobody.
