2H Sorcerer Build

I've been dabbling in a lot of the cookie-cutter builds but not really been finding them fun to play, so I sat down and went over what I wanted to play and worked out a build that I think will be fun even if it isn't something that'll ever top any charts. However I'm nowhere near experienced enough with this game to know if I've included the right skills, whether some don't work as intended or others might fill the role better.

I love Khajiit, so plumped for that as a race. I know it probably isn't the best for stamina builds, but it's got some nice stealth elements and recovery as well as extra weapon critical.

I also went for Sorcerer as I like the class and it has some nice effects. 2 Handed as well as I'm kind of hoping (at least at endgame) there'll be some really nice looking 2 handed weapons.

So, the build I'm aiming for on paper (as I'm only level 7 at the moment) is:

Slot 1: Critical Rush (2H) - The thought being that it's a gap closer with some extra damage depending on distance travelled.
Slot 2: Dizzying Swing (2H) / Hurricane (SC) - Either a big attack with a stun or an aoe attack with Major Resolve, Major Ward and Minor Expedition effects
Slot 3: Executioner (2H) / Carve (2H) - Either a finisher or a sweeping attack that builds Ultimate
Slot 4: Bound Armaments (DS) - Grants Minor Resolve (does that stack with Major Resolve?), +11% damage on heavy attacks and increases max stamina by 5%
Slot 5: Critical Surge (SC) - Major Brutality and it gives me health back on a critical hit.
Ultimate: Onslaught (2H) / Shooting Star (MG) - Big finisher (bigger than Executioner?) or AoE ultimate

I'm sure this is n00b level theorycrafting, but it seems to use a good spread of skills across 2H and Sorcerer.

Is there anything I may have overlooked or not considered perhaps? I'm not looking to be a powerhouse in PvE but hopefully I will be able to hold my own. Not sure about PvP as I've never tried it, but I'm guessing that'll also be for much later levels. As I'm low level right now I'm mostly solo, but I will want to do some dungeons once my build starts picking the skills up I'm looking for.

I have thought about splitting the two bars out to cover single-target vs multi-target once I hit 15.

I'd welcome some thoughts from more experienced players. :)

When I was leveling 2H I actually only used Critical Rush, because every other skill wasn't that impressive at all.

For Solo PvE Leveling: If you want to rely on self heal by Surge, I recommend to slot one of the Mage Light morphs to increase crit chance. You'll want as many hits as possible that can crit to get enough self heal.

Currently I level the weapon skills and my setup is:

Slot 1: weapon skill of weapon type to level
    Slot 2: Lightning Flood
    Slot 3: Boundless Storm
    Slot 4: Power Surge
    Slot 5: Inner Light
    Ulti: whatever

I did this with almost every weapon type. Works fine and self heal is pretty good (it actually makes food just a nice-to-have in solo play, even without cp).

It'd be interesting if Expert Hunter affects Hurricane? Because EH increases weapon critical rating and Hurricane converts damage to physical damage. But whether physical dmg is affected by weapon crit rating or not unfortunately I don't know.

Once you unlock the last skill in 2H you get a nice heal over time and morphed into a heal over time and buff to weapon damage (20% if I remember correctly) Rally is what the skill is called.

You'll likely run into the problem of having so many great skills but not sure what to run. The best thing would be to try many combos that work with your play style and see what you can do with it.

Executioner is a nice low cost skill when the target is low on health. I wouldn't waste an Ult on filling the role of execute unless it is a low cost Ult.

I like running with a single target bar and aoe bar on my dps builds.
Solo PvP and PvE most of the time.

Really appreciate the input guys, thank you. :)

I'm now around level 11 and am getting a lot of mileage out of Critical Rush and Hurricane. Haven't levelled up enough to get much of the other skills I'm after yet, so I have been using Carve (not overly impressed), Mage Fury (as a finisher until I get Executioner) and Velocitous Curse for extra damage and some aoe.

Right now, normal fights tend to be over with Critical Rush/Hurricane and some weapon swings. Strong enemies I've encountered take much more work which is where Velocitous Curse helps (although it feels like I'm always reapplying it).

At least at the moment I don't appear to take much damage in short fights (even against multiple basic foes), but strong enemies seem to be good at getting through to my health. I have put some effort into Provisioning to see if some food buffs will help and may try alchemy as well to get some better potions.

I'm using 5 medium, 1 heavy and 1 light for my armour and have been trying to keep them up-to-date level-wise. I've also tried to keep my 2-handed sword at my level too and enchanted that as best I could.

While leveling really the key is keeping at least one of each of your three class skills slotte

My leveling slots on my khajiit stamsorc were

    1 hurricane
    2 crit rush
    3 cleave
4 2hw or other skill to level
    5 dark mag or summons
    Ulti summons or dark magic

When i got skill to morph, swap in new skill to level.

Cleave is solid esp with the shield morph. Also its quick.

    Bound arms, crit surge great.

After leveling iirc my stamsorc is sitting on

    1 rally
    2 crit rush
    3 cleave shield morph
    4 executioner
    5 hunter

Crit surge, hurricane on back bar.

This is a very survival oriented set but decent dps.

    There are lots of options.

Dizzy/wreck is goid. I just find it too slow. Most fightscend quicjer imo with cleave-lha weave then exec.

A bow backbar for some range and dot to start thing off... at developing levels and beyond thru most content can serve you well.

End game trials and arenas are puzzles to be solved and more about knowing the right mechanics, patterns and timing so while changes may need to be made for any of those, for each of those individually, you can work in that wgen you get there.

Glad to see I'm not the only Khajiit stamsorc out there! :)

Hadn't considered those ideas STEVIL but I will take a look. Thanks for the advice.

What kind of traits should I be aiming for on my weapon? I've been enchanting with Shock damage as there's a sorc passive that increases physical and shock damage which seemed to make sense.

Traits - sharpened is likely best tho precise is big since crits help but since you rely on self heals at times powered can help - buffing up surge gains and rally and dark exchg iirc etc.

Shock enchants are good as you describe but see what you need.
    Poison damage can be fine.

Sometimes the sta absorb can be good.
The weapon dmg can be good.

Also, dont discount poisons. A simple drain health from lumimous, water, bugloss can do good dmg plus heals.

Except for tippy top highest max minmax, its better to get good with your play with good choices you enjoy than chasing the best one-true-max choice.

A strong factor will be what sets of gear you choose to acquire.

I have levelled all 2H skills on my Redguard stamina sorc.

For pve I prefer Wrecking Blow for the Empower buff. You spam WB and weave heavy attacks for stamina regen and building up ulti. The clipped animation looks terrible though or funny, you decide.
Many people prefer Dizzlying Swing in pvp and it is fun to play in pve.

You should consider Brawler for the shield. You can get a huge stacked up shield with it. I used it for solo pve and fighting zergs in pvp, btw. players underestimate the bleed dot, which you can simply spam in pvp.

Crit Rush is fine, you can use it as an opener with good damage. Be careful though: You cannot control the movement until you hit your target. Some pvp players use this to drag you into aoes and worse.

With Reverse Slice as AOE you can theoretically hit as hard as with Steel Tornado, but you must always hit the lowest health target, which is very difficult to do. With Executioner you get an execute that can hit harder than spammed WB on single targets though.
