Resettable Faction Zones worth adding?

If you are like me you love questing, especially with friends. One Tamriel was awesome for this. The only restriction a long time adventurer would run into is NO MORE QUEST. Sure there is a TON of quest. But it would sure be great if I could reset the Ebon Heart areas and go through it again with some friends. (of course with quest skill points removed for second play) Some people are alt people and some like me are not. We already have endless dungeon raiding and PVP, so why not endless questing?

Is this worth adding?

The Secret World does this and it actually works really really well.
They have implemented various cool-downs on them so they can't be 'farmed'.

If on the other hand the question was if we should get more dailies, even in story quest zones...

This is an excellent idea and is something I've thought about myself.

There is no downside to it at all because if there's nothing to gain from doing it again (skill points etc) then nobody will feel forced into having to do it again.

At the moment if I wanted to play the quests again I would have to remake a character but there's only so many types of character I'd enjoy playing, so I would basically end up with duplicate toons only to be able to play the same quests again.

If it keeps people happy and keeps people playing then I don't see a down side. If you don't want to make use of it then you don't have to use it and therefore it won't affect your game at all.

Maybe make it a switch for each zone, so you can reset each areas quests, redoing the quests would only give EXP points.

I really don't understand why people have voted against it, especially without even giving a reason why.

Isn't there some areas you'd like to do again?

If not then how would having this implemented negatively effect your game in any way?

This would help repopulate the map and help spread people out.

Dailies are mainly dungeons (and FG waiting game) and not to everyones taste.

Doesn't Razum'Dar survive no matter what? It has been a VERY long time since I have done that quest, but he even if you choose to let him die, he crawls out more or less unscathed. He appears in the Gold Coast for another quest, so I don't think they've changed that quest.


For the question, I cannot really object to it but I'd rather they include more interesting dailies. Reaper's March has some dailies at the carnival area, and those can be spruced up a bit to make them more enticing.

I'd love to be able to do some of the quests again, but it should be limited to sidequests. Any part of a zone's storyline should be non-repeatable.

Absolutely, I believe I said as much in a previous post as well.

While I could just roll a new toon and play again... I've spent hundreds of hours gathering resources and skill points and leveling skill lines and generally turning my character into a badass. I would like to play the content again without needing to worry about leveling any of my gear or gathering skyshards, or basically getting distracted by anything other than just wandering around the world doing basic quests to pass the time.

I saw mention of a cooldown on the reset to prevent abuse of the system for farming, and I agree with that.

Yes he does, but the first time I did it I didn't know that so I choose the option to save him and then he got mad at me

It's not like they are force-feeding you that stuff, and OP didn't say that he wanted to reset a zone to switch it for another one, but he wanted to reset it to replay the quests, which is an entirely different thing.

If I want to be a tank and use a Dunmer, but I prefer using an Argonian for it, who am I hurting?
If I want to change the appearance of my char, why shouldn't I? You have changed your looks in time by switching armor, why can't I change hairstyle?
If I want to change my char's name, why shouldn't I? Account names are to avoid confusion, char's names are for immersion purposes. Let's say I'm an RP-er and some events have led to my char being hunted. At the same time, I'd like to change my char's name. Why shouldn't I do it? How am I hurting you or the game?
You can't even change faction nor class, so there's nothing to say on it.

If you don't like that stuff, you don't do it, simple. I don't use Change tokens because I don't like to, but if someone wants to change something of his toon why shouldn't he? I probably would never reset a quest zone but why other people that want to replay those regions shouldn't?

You'd need to...

Ensure no skill points could be gained twice.
Ensure no impact on achieves.
Avoid giving out duplicate items from salesble sets (i.e. Don't want people farming something in demand by constantly resetting an area, doing a single quest, resetting again etc).

Probably some other gotchas to avoid exploits but in principle it sounds interesting.

If you're talking about Eidetic Memory books, any that were inside a quest location should also be available after the quest is completed. For example, they could be found near the quest giver or turn-in, or near the entrance to the quest location.

Yes, I found several I missed that way, but there are still few I cant find for the love of Talos. I guess some must be phased out or something...

What's that even got to do with it? lol.

And I don't think that's true either. Yeah, I'm new but from what I've seen there's a lot of quests I couldn't replay with friends because of how I've changed things IE I've killed the enemies in that area or I've cleansed the area. So me going there with someone else wouldn't matter as the area would have no mobs.
