Steam And Non Steam ESO Accounts.

I would prefer to buy crowns and/or subscription through the Steam. Is this possible with a NON steam eso account? I see they are offering that now and was hoping that would work as I don't like using credit cards. Do you get a code that I could put in somewhere in the ESO website, or something?

BTW, I would have asked this question on the Steam ESO forum but you are NOT allowed to post there unless you have purchased ESO on Steam. Not very well thought through.

Unfortunately not. If your version of ESO was not purchased through Steam, you will not be able to link your Steam account to your existing ESO account without purchasing a new copy of the game on the Steam platform first.

Can I link my existing Elder Scrolls Online account to my Steam account?

I DID manage to link my account during the free week end. As in I downloaded the steam ESO client and on the login I had the option of linking and playing my current ESO account (which I did). But since it was just a trial (and I can't go through Steam to login anymore, of course) I not sure if this link is still there. I guess what I can do is try to make a purchase and see if Steam lets me or not. Maybe I'll give their tiniest crown pack a try this Christmas.

Hmm, interesting. I would assume in this case though that Steam would know you don't have a purchased version (since it won't let you log in through Steam), and therefore wouldn't allow you to purchase ESO Plus or Crowns either. If you do test it out though, I'd be interested to know what happens!

Ok, I just tried to buy a crown pack and the Steam store would NOT let me.
