You know what's a hardly-ever-used ultimate? The Sorcerer's Charged Atronach morph that does AOE damage.
It's not surprising that Charged Atronach barely gets summoned. Here are the already existing magicka-based AOE ultimates that are often much better options for a Sorcerer:
- Suppression Field
- Devouring Swarm
- Meteor
- Elemental Storm
So how about we go ahead and replace the hardly-ever-used Charged Atronach with a morph that would be more fun... like say... a Summon Daedroth morph!
The coding already exists to make a Summon Daedroth ultimate possible (see: Maw of the Infernal monster helm). All that would be left is finding a way to make the ultimate more effective and fun to use. Maybe the Daedroth costs 250 ultimate to summon but becomes a pure toggle when summoned, effectively staying on the battlefield at all times as long as the ultimate stays slotted on one's bar. If the Daedroth dies, it respawns after a brief cooldown period like the Dire Wolves do from the Werewolf ultimate "Pack Leader." Just a thought. It might not be anywhere near a best-in-slot ultimate, but it sure would be fun to run around with a pet Daedroth!
