Resto staff channels harder than lightning?

Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Upon testing damage, my resto channels for 7.5k crits, and this is with only 4 piece spinners 4 elf bane. My lightning destro is critting 6.1k with 5 spinners 4 elf bane.

Did they change something?

Lightning staff is lesser due to having an aoe damage component and a burst at the end..

I heard this from a few different places recently.. - that resto tics harder than lightining - and also that the aoe burst from lightning in PVP is hit twice by battle-spirit (so only doing 1/4 dmg rather than half)

Are you a sorc? Sorcs get extra lightning damage. Is your target already debuffed down to near no resistance before Spinner is applied? If so, you won't see much benefit from the 5 piece. I am assuming both staves are the same level, quality, and have similar enchants.

Both gold, maybe the spinners isn't taking effect, but even so, the lightning staff is critting for 1.4k less than a resto staff which seems odd.

Wait, why are you wearing elf bane (which I love) with a lightning staff?

And what are the values of final hit for both staves? (Never tested but it seemed to me that lightning has powerfull final hit, but i can be wrong)

Because he is only wearing 4 pieces, like he said.

There is that extra hit on lightning, forgot about that!

I brought this into pvp last night and it is not nearly as effective as i thought it would be. Sword and shield it is i guess.

The resto staff ticks 3 times and the lightning staff ticks 4 times. Lightning also does AoE damage so you will do more damage with that.
