Should I, Too, Fall to the Viper's Sting?

Some of my Guildmates and I recently did the first boss in Fungal Grotto a few times, and I ended up with a Belt and Purple Necklace of that dreaded Proc Set. So now I'm at a crossroads.

Should I continue to try and farm the rest and finally kit out my Nightblade with a Viper set?

Use what makes you successful. A few players had a bad encounter with something they lack the skill to defend against so they do not want you using it. Your potential enemies telling you what not to use is not in your best interest. Then you get those people that refuse to a set up simply because the game's population collectively has come to decide something is the most effective. This is illogical for no purpose other than to be contrarian. Sometimes you need to fight with fire.

Do not bring a knife to a gunfight because a few not like guns.

You can't "git gud" otherwise. You'd be a fool not to.
I am the biggest fool I know running around trying to do damage as a magicka melee guy. If only I had a set that added 9K magicka damage to my 10K opens. Then I, too, would achieve "L2P" status.

Also, as suggested, pair it with tremor because why not snare your AP dumbies while you're at it.

If you kill someone with proc sets, you won't be taken seriously as a player. If your gear is doing the fighting for you, why should a player respect you?

My 2 CP is hell yeah, go for it. You can always take it off when you see firsthand how cheesy it is. The danger, of course is losing yourself to the procside of the force.

A lot of people has gone because of those sets. At one point only proccers will be playing.

It's personal choice . It's not like everyone is not already doing it and you are going to be the one exception . Just avoid making a 1VsX video because it's more of featuring a armor set then skill .

Resist, dont become a shitproccer. Ive resisted this long and certainly wont fall for proccs now. Nerf is right around the corner. Altho we all know how thats gonna go, zos will break it even more. lol

To be honest I doubt I'll ever complete a full set to use. It was a rare decision for us to try doing an Undaunted Daily that night and it just happened to be Fungal Grotto. We rarely, if ever choose to just go Dungeon farming and I'd never be able to do it alone. And with how bad the Group Finder is, coupled with how kick/leave happy most regular Dungeon going players are, I wouldn't waste my time.

The temptation though...definitely there.

Who cares.. Just do it.. Anyone can farm it.. You not using it isn't going to stop other people from using it. So go for it.. I'm farming it myself.. And I don't care what people think of me..

Skill means the ability to do something well. Its true that these proc sets do make it easier to kill other players.. which does take away the skill in using ability's to kill but were now playing a game where skill is based off your decisions and how you react to changing environments in pvp.

There are tons of people who use Viper or Tremorscale or EotS but do it terribly and fail over and over. The players who learn to adapt and utilize there builds to the fullest is what i would class as skill. This game doesn't require skill to kill. I'd say it requires skill to be able to assess a situation and know your limits.

I prefer Spriggan over Viper against heavy armor builds by a large margin - it's much stronger in total damage output, both because of more useful bonuses (two crit is nice in PVE, not so nice in PVP) and because the penetration increases damage output more. Draugr Hulk will also give you more average damage than Viper if you're putting constant pressure on your opponent.

Viper excels in hit and run style strategies. I find that many players using Viper don't really take advantage of it by setting up burst with it. Most of them would be better off with Draugr Hulk (against sheilds/etc) or Spriggan (against heavy armor).
