Does Treasure Hunter work well?

I'm 222CP and one away from being able to respec 75CP for Treasure Hunter to farm. I was wondering if you are guaranteed purple loot drops from zones/overland or if it simply improves chances?

✭You are not guaranteed purple drops.
It's a very subtle increase in the chance to get better quality gear, so you often won't notice any difference.Edited by Jim_Pipp on November 17, 2016 8:54AM#1 tip (Re)check your graphics settings periodically - especially resolution.5

✭✭✭✭It increases the chances of getting better quality loot, for example getting purple instead of blue, but not by much. ✭✭✭✭Treasure Hunter does not work at all on anchor chests. I tested this during festival.
100 anchor chests without TH passive- 60 green jewelry
- 34 blue jewelry
- 6 purple jewelry
100 anchor chests with TH passive- 57 green jewelry
- 36 blue jewelry
- 7 purple jewelry
So, the difference is so minor that it hurts.
On regular overworld chests, I noticed a significant set item drop increase in simple chests. Almost every 2nd simple chest I opened had a set piece inside when I used TH passive.2
