Becoming a zombie

Does anybody recognize this? Normally when you die the screen turns colorless and you can respawn, but lately I turn into a zombie for a few seconds. The screen goes colorless, my view goes from 3rd to 1st person and I can move and still swing my blade. Then after a couple of seconds I fall to the ground.
Looks like a serious LAG issue to me Zenimax. When even dying in this game is suffering from lag, how am I expected to play this game as intended?
