Hi, I would post this on the steam version but if you don't own the game there you cant post. Well anyway, my question is can I use my current teso account if I buy TESO gold edition on steam? I don't own any of the expansions on my current account and I wanted to upgrade through steam.

I'm sure the Steam version and the version from Bethesda site are separate
So if you buy the Gold version on Steam then you have to buy Gold for the other version

I could be totally wrong but I'm sure this is how it works

It looks like the steam version is entirely isolated with its accounts and logins but I would like some clarification on this. I want to buy the gold edition since I have steam credit, but if I cant transfer my account over and get all the expansions I'll probably pass on it.

From what I understand, they would be totally separate. I remember when you could buy the game via steam and it came with a dog pet and people were super mad because they had steam, and they had bought the game outside of steam, and could not get the dog.

I am using my beta account on a steam version of ESO. One can use any time of account on a steam or non steam version of the game. On my main PC (a tower) I use steam with a non steam account and on my laptop I just use non steam version with the same account.

Thanks for the clarification, do you know how the cd keys are? I'm guessing only the steam account will get the expansions?

    Yes.
You get another account with the steam Version.
    Old acc, no dlc
    New acc, dlc

But you should be able to access both on the same Client.

The information being provided on this thread is outdated. The Steam version WILL now link with existing non-Steam accounts and you'll get the DLC. I can confirm this. I had an existing non-Steam account and bought the Gold version on Steam. When you first install it, it will prompt you to either create a new account or link with your existing account.
