There has been a lot of trouble with people trying to use a speed build character to do this. Since usually they are an alt, they are low ranked and not very known, so no one trusts them to run the scroll.

Glad you got to do it though.

I'm just built for mobility overall but it doesn't entirely gimp my dps lol although I'm bulky too (had 36.5k Health when I ran the scroll with food) so not much DPS anyway but still

Or better yet, have several players from all 3 factions grab scrolls and bring them to the Moth Priest Temple and then proceed to have your 3 alliance team defend the scrolls against anyone who comes into the chapel.

That was truly epic!

I've ran a scroll the same distance on the opposite side of the map.

2 Weeks ago I dropped Altadoon into the firey lava pits near Rayles. Hilarity and trolling was great. Because the scroll never touched a Blue keep Altadoon teleported back into the temple LOL

Seriously. One of our guildmates picked up a scroll on an alt and since no one knew who he was they proceeded to raise hell in zone chat, in spite of our reassurances and eventual calling them names right back (this was mainly me). Scroll was in Warden so everyone was freaking out when we had the audacity to go around DC controlled Rayles and Glademist on the way back to the altadoon temple. I assume the nubs in zone chat would have run directly between the keeps and lost the scroll almost immediately.

I know the feeling. I stopped by 3 keeps before finally being able to secure the scroll because I couldn't secure it in the first 2 I stopped at. Good thing I'm so fast

Everyone's hard-on for grabbing the scroll is ridiculous. If there is a group responsible for taking the keep where the scroll is, they should get the scroll, not some rando who just gets a hard-on every time they see their name on the alerts.

Back in the Deci days, there was a particularly annoying AD player who would repeatedly grab scrolls at keeps we took despite doing nothing to help take it. We would respond by not protecting the player and he'd inevitably lose the scroll. If you didn't do anything to take the keep, don't take the scroll.

Speed builds for scroll running doesn't make sense, either, as you shouldn't outpace your escort group. You can reach horse speed without special builds, so it's a pointless thing to run.

Nonsense. I've handed plenty of DC scrolls to EP, and EP scrolls to DC. I play on neither faction. They're always more than willing to accept a donation.

Well there is a particularly annoying DC who just waits out of combat while everyone around him does all of the work so he can swoop in and grab the scroll from those who actually opened the keep. It's really quite irritating, so we did it to him once and he was absolutely furious and spewing some pretty serious hate in zone. I guess he didn't see the irony of the situation.

And for the record I didn't just swoop in and swipe it. I was en route as a group was taking the scroll from the temple and after the first person claimed it and died a few seconds later someone else grabbed it and began running with it. He was ambushed by a lone stealther and wiped out. Soon as the scroll dropped I attempted to grab it but was attacked by the same guy. I survived his burst attempt which took about 22k of my health and then grabbed the scroll after the others got rid of that guy. People can say what they want about me grabbing the scroll but frankly I did contribute by being a target so I did deserve my part.

The first time I got to handle the scroll was on hopesfire. We had just ninja'd it from Casuales reign of tyranny and it was decided that I would be the best person to run it because I was tanky. As soon as I picked it up my wife started vacuuming. As I got close to halfway with it my wife started getting angry with the dust behind the TV and pulled out the mini sucker. In a manic wife rage she let out a battle cry and began to vigorously thrust the vacuum arm like a street corner stabbing into the space behind the TV with all the cords. Everything was on track to turn that scroll in and then suddenly everything stopped when the router got unplugged. When I made it back Casuale had wrecked everyone except me who loaded in all alone... but at least the lag was improved

There is a very good chance I am not talking about you. Unless you are nicknamed "scrollgrabber" by Blood of Daggerfall, because he actually does exactly what I described.

so basically your admitting that you are a spy in dc camp and you should be left to be killed anytime you have scroll? and yes all the speed in the world will not stop a good player from killing you without the team of protectors you normally have.

either I was playing at the time; or, someone did the exact same thing - i was on DC and trying to figure out whether to port to rayles or ash to go chase the scroll...

i remember just staring at the map trying to figure out what the heck just happened

best/worst scroll run i ever had was on my magic sorc, i walked it from kingscrest to western AD temple.. i had been awake for over 24 hrs and didnt think to slot lightning form let alone streak!

was escorted by our emp (the reason i had been awake so long) who managed to single handedly destroy the EP horde (8 players) who came after us while i healed him through it! LOL
