Guild Quests: Could we just get lots of gold instead of ornate items?

I doubt anyone is using these weapons & armor as they come in white quality so the only reason for their excistance is to be sold immediately for a good price. What makes this annoying is that you have to remove them from the coffer and search for them from your bag - and if your bag couldn't hold all the items immediately you may need to open the coffer several times to sell the items.
So how about just getting 350-800 gold from it instead of ornate stuff?

Why search, just change the list to be in descending order of price and all the Ornates will be at the top. Hint, click on the price column header.

Ornate items are better than straight-up gold IMO because with ornate items you have the option of deconstructing them if you've got a character who's leveling the relevant crafting skill. If not, you sell them right after opening the reward crate (which you might as well do while you're in town, because you're always going to be in town when you get it).

The ornated items sell for about 150-200 gold, which is around the price most people list weapons and armor with the Intricate trait in guild stores.

So no, deconstructing ornated gear is not a good idea at all, as you can purchase intricate items for the same value and get at least three times the inspiration gain.

Nah, it's not worth my time to go and search guild traders for intricate items. I'd rather waste less time doing stuff like that, spend more time playing, and have it take slightly longer to level crafting skills.

The point is that an ornate item gives you more options than straight-up gold does. It's up to each person to decide whether those options make sense for them.

You can also mark them all as junk while they're still in the 'new item' mode that floats them to the top.

They also take up considerably more space in the pack. I'm with the OP; the constant selling to clear my pack out again is so tedious I've taken to only opening the reward coffers once a week so I can get fifteen or so done at once and not bother until the next week. It's tedious.

When you get them you're right in a city with vendors right there... If you need to sell them to clean out your pack, it takes 2 seconds to do so.

@Nestor I love you now with a desperate, physical yearning.

Not too often I learn a time-saving trick but that's a lovely one. I was just posting about farming all those quests on 12 characters making me rich. The loot selling is not so fun.

Ornate quest rewards, because when players ask for content they're really asking for inventory management time sinks...

My bag is sometimes so filled that I can't take all the items out immediately and I am not bothering to run to the bank and back to merchant. At worst, I have to open the coffer 6 times and sell the items one by one.

There are only 5 possible quest gold rewards, which are also tied into the quest's difficulty and XP reward, so changing the gold value would not be trivial. Unless of course they just put more gold in the Merits box.
