Is this game fun now?

I haven't played since the introduction of the theft system but with the introduction of SSE I was curious about this game. There's a lot of things I didn't like about this game and I'm curious if they're still relatively the same.

1. The match making didn't work right and just matched whoever. So doing group content was hard for people without a guild.
2. You had to have specific builds to do the higher end group content and in trials you had to limit who could come because you need X class instead of Y.
3. Builds were very extreme and streamlined just so you could finish some group content.
4. The CP grind was faster grinding out in certain spots than just normally playing the game. This made the grind very obvious and no fun.
5. PVP TTK was way too fast.
6. If you wanted that one item you had to run the same dungeon over and over again till that one boss dropped it. (poor RNG)

Thanks in advance.

    1. Yes and no. The vote to kick system is irritating for some lower levels I'm sure, and if the crown disbands you end up penalized 15 minutes (have to wait to use the finder again). However, the way they changed the dungeons was beneficial imo.
    2. Depending on what content you're talking about. Vma? Nah, once you have cleared it you can mess around with builds. Normal mode trials are easy, vmol on the other hand will need an end game build and a ton of practice.
    3. Same as 2.
    4. They've really sped up grinding and are doing so even more with new xp pots.
    5. Disaster zone. Proc sets galore with low ttk via a light attack or one skill. 80k trollplars. Avoid pvp to save yourself the headache.
    6. The grind is real now for almost everything. Want a viper bow sharpened? Prepare to spend hours in fungal grotto. And so on and so forth for other gear sets (With one tamriel different sets are in different zones/dungeons with pieces also being split among bosses, dolmens, world bosses).

Depends on what your expectations are, I don't find it as fun as I used to, but fun enough to keep playing and my friends are still here and my guild is still huge.

There has always been something fun somewhere in game or I would not still be here . Sometimes it's difficult discovering where that is exactly ... but I usually can find it . Moderation of the broken places is key .

    PvP is absolute garbage atm.
The numbers thing is always going to be there, but it’s more down to player skill and there are ways through ability choice to configure a group to be stronger vs. large groups of people. - BRAIN WHEELER - 2012 - LOL

    Agree with this

Depends on what you mean by fun really

Farming is like a degenerative disease that goes on for years and never quite manages to kill you, it goes on and on and on..... Materials, sets, vma, trials its pure evil getting anything what you want. It took me over a year of farming to to the sets i wanted from imperial city dlc and at that rate i will be farming for another 3 years before i get all the things i want.

PvP. I dont even know what to say. Disaster area is a good description. I cannot use the words i really want to about it for fear of some zos troll editing it. PvP is not what it should be anyway, and the sooner it changes the better really.

Fun? Builds are fun if you have years to wait before you can finally finish one. PvP is fun if you play meta (light armour gtfo). Trials are fun if you and your team know what you are doing and have trial builds.

Vma is not fun. Its boring and unrewarding, no i dont want a sharpend weapon every time, and some setsin the chests are nice but the quest only gives 604 gold and tbh its a joke

If you want fun you have to make your own fun in eso.

I came back about 6 weeks ago after 18 months off, and I would say if you *play the game*, then it's a lot more fun that it was.

But if you get stuck in the farming rut, then you it's as boring as any game will be if you repeat the same thing day in day out. This is a personal choice however.

I've got to be honest, this is the first time since the game came out that I would say I don't find much fun in it anymore. I used to play everyday, and now I only play maybe 3 times per week, if that, and that is mainly to chat to my guildies rather than to play and enjoy the game...

I used to pvp allot, but thats no longer fun for me due to imbalances and I refuse to play as something I don't enjoy just because it is stronger. The dungeons and group content used to be fun, but now, after so long, it is just repetitive and too easy. I know that many people still get allot of fun out of the game though, which is great, and I wish I still did, but that is how I feel about it personally. Maybe I need a break from the game myself, idk, because I am just feeling burnt out with it at the moment

Meh, I dont find much fun anymore. Stuck in that limbo area between painfully boring easy normal mode and enraging impossible veteran mode. So no, not much fun left to be had for me (imo).

I have been enjoying Diablo 3 so much lately that I have been forgetting to log on to ESO and train riding skill.

Same, but with Skyrim SE, Disgaea 5, and Smash Bros. I also picked-up Megadimension Neptunia VII recently, and Pokémon Sun and Moon are only a few more days away. Too many epic and wonderful games are out, for me to be getting frustrated from dealing with the atrocious RNG in ESO. Plus the bits of: Extreme lag, desyncs, broken mechanics, unbalanced PvP, and overall poor performance make ESO slide further back on my priorities list.

As much as I'd like to continue 'enjoying' the Maelstrom double loot event, and continue playing until the end of it (as I originally planned) — ESO is just incredibly mediocre and stale at the moment. There's nothing new and exciting to do, PvP is dead, and I have nothing really to aim for or do (besides aim for a Maelstrom Lightning Staff or any kind).

Sorry ZOS, but you've officially lost me like the other tons of end-game players until your next DLC/expansion. I just make posts on these forums now to stay abreast of things, and try to not stay out the loop of things. But, even that's going to start fading rapidly as I have gotten back into posting on Reddit frequently and a few fighting game community sites. ESO was revealed to me for what it truly is these past few months in regards to its: Devs, community, game (overall), and performance. And I'm far from impressed or pleased with what I've discovered and come to terms with.

There is far too much farming to be done for me personally to really enjoy what the game has too offer. I used to play many hours each week but i have drasticaly cut that short. I am enjoying re running Crag main quest line though. But mostly it just seems Grind Grind Grind which is putting me off even playing

Yes, aside from getting hit with 20K worth of simultaneous proc sets in PvP, ESO is fun.
Make Rush of Agony "Monsters only." People should not be consecutively crowd controlled in a PvP setting. Period.
