The Difference with EP and AD in PVP

One thing I've noticed as an exclusively EP player: DC tend to think... highly of themselves. More so than AD. Most often this manifests itself in rage tells. The DC faction in general sends more rage tells upon dying (with their death being the only provocation) than AD. It's almost as if dying to another player who you view as beneath you, insults your very sense of self-worth or your prowess as a gamer. I suppose with a worldview like that, it makes sense to send them a tell to let them know they are beneath you...

Just the other day, for example, a DC stam sorc wearing, you guessed it: Black Rose, Viper, and Tremorscale, sent me multiple rage tells after dying. The first few being a rant about how MY build was "easy mode."
    ...
    Double_5a8df3_206510.jpg

...If my life ever perfectly embodied a /facedesk meme, this was the moment... (iif you're running that build you have zero right to complain about anything, imo).

ANYWAY. I only say this because we're talking about general faction traits and attributes, and this is one I've seen in a number of DC pvp-ers. That said, I know tons of awesome people who are quality players in DC/AD and EP, so it's all moot, I suppose.

@The_Outsider yeah, that's pretty much how DC players are. they're very needy, kill one DC player and spend the next 5 minutes getting whipers from them about how they can 1v1 you (despite just having lost a 1v1 against you) and just how great of a player they are. the majority of DC players are rather irritating. in my experience.

I wish I could post the harassing tells I get from Ad and Ep on this forum. I get called every name in the book and accused of all sorts of vile, disgusting stuff (one from some bully who was mad I used poisons on him) so please don't sit here and act like ad and ep are choir boys. There are scum in all three factions. And I admit I engage in banter at times with enemy players, 99% of the time I'm joking and do it out of boredom. But the tells I get? Filled with vitriol and creepy rage from people who know absolutely nothing about me and have even gone so far as to threaten to contact my children.

From my experience, here's my observations about the factions geared around PC NA TF campaign.

AD has the least toxic zone chat and the most amount of pugs/less organized groups. AD is probably also the most casual/least hardcore faction; however, they have some of the strongest guilds left in the game but they do not generally run nightly. So AD is hot and cold as a result, either a glory zerg or where is everyone? Pugs get farmed at alessia bridge mercilessly.

DC has most number of organized guilds that run nightly but often do not cooperate with each other - lot of hostility between group leads. Not very many pugs, lot of small mans but small mans are usually zerg surfing. Zone chat can be toxic but mostly geared around guild feuds. DC faction stacks are most scary because the average player skill levels seems a bit higher - even numbers DC will generally win engagements.

EP has most toxic zone chat. Multiple raids of PM - literally only guild left in game running multiple raids within one TS. Staxus usually riding inside of PM or bombing you after you use ults on PM. Have seen invictus running around in numbers again but they seem to try not to faction stack as much when they have a good sized raid going. Faction most likely to faction stack.

Well summarized. As a lifelong DC'er, though I feel I have to clarify that our zone chat can *seem* toxic but often times it's old timers razzing one another-we are like sisters and brothers in that sense. It can become quite toxic when obvious AD and EP players port in with the intention to only troll us in zone and second guess our strategies. It's kinda like, "we can tease one another. But don't you dare come over and start crap with us." Most guild leads talk behind the scenes with the exception of SG who would rather wipe than accept well meaning advice.

Yep order of least toxic to most toxic zone chats is AD -> DC -> EP.

I'll add that every faction stacks at times, usually organically like when pushed back to home tri-keeps. DC faction stack most lethal but most rare of the 3 to occur. AD when they have all the heavy hitters running is 2nd most lethal, sometimes most lethal, and 2nd most likely to occur when pushing an objective - it's hard for AD to faction stack sometimes when the allure of the bridge is too strong. EP faction stack is most likely to happen and least lethal.

Wow this is like I wrote this... crazy. I would concur... exactly.

not really the point but yeah you're right every faction sends rage tells. it's an online PvP game. so it's to be expected. the point being DC tends have more needy players than other faction.

Oh Ro, not a victim. Just pointing out all three factions have rotten people, because it seemed DC was being painted with a very broad brush. But overall I agree with you-my focus is always at every time I'm playing to have fun and laugh. I think some people take the general "you suck 1v1 me loser" tells too seriously. I usually either dispense them or accept them with a bit of curiosity about who is behind them and I'm almost always amused and entertained. It's why I love MMO's.

Oh, I'm quite sure you're right. Being EP my perspective is obviously skewed. I can only comment on the differences I see between DC and AD. EP may be even more toxic, or just in a different way.

This one trend I've seen since the thread went the way of talking about faction attributes in a general sense.

I'm not talking about anyone in particular . I'm just saying in general when you have removed the people that are angry from your chat , you will finally get to see who is nice . I don't enjoy watching people be angry or "harvesting salt" what ever they call it . That person may have a psychiatric problem or a bad home life who knows . I just don't want to be apart of anything more negative in their life or game time but most importantly I don't want mine ruined .

I haven't received any hate tells from players in another faction.

However, one night it was a fire hose of hate tells to me in EP over a resource flag lol. (DC was camping a tower and they wanted to bring the tower down). And like a champ I wasn't paying attention to my chat until it was too late.

A lot of people here saying EP zone chat is generally salty or negative. While it is not some big round table of players holding hands sharing info and singing kumbaya like a lot of AD are suggesting their zone chat is. EP zone chat is generally neutrally positive, informative on occasion and overall pretty chill. There is zero inter guild drama on EP so any of the occasional bickering is between individual players and not larger groups. There have been exceptions rarely but not often. I suspect most faction zone chats are the same.

Actually most of us just assume that the vast majority of griffs are semi-sentient programs set to follow a path marked by templar shards. They're also scripted to spam heals, prox.dets, and destro ults as that's easy enough to program when compared to more complex skill rotation.

Everyone knows all the human players from the red side are actually on their dumbminion alts running them giddily towards thosee farm bots. Farm bots that are soon to gain self awareness and rise up against the queue cloggers huddled upon the bridge.
