FIX VMA Loot/Weapon Traits

Push this. I'm so tired of getting decisive axes, daggers, two-handed, and powered destro staves with a skewed probability to even drop. If it hadn't been for the event I would've stopped going in, as the effort isn't worth it for just one crappy weapon. 20 runs since Monday and nothing I would actually use, so 20 hours of my life wasted...

Maybe rerolling loot of the last chest once or twice would be good idea?
Or maybe spawn 3 chests and you could peek inside of each but loot only one?

Im mostly satisfied with my vMA drops. Never seen 1h axe to drop though and some traits are not optimal but they work just fine for me.

Either nerf sharpened or buff at least precise and nirnhoned. Nirnhoned needs to be at least 25% to be somewhat useful and precise needs to be doubled. Or add a critical damage modifier to precise (5-7%).

Ive done 9 runs with double drops and haven't even seen a 1H weapon yet, let alone the 9 runs before that. Forget traits and stop giving me sword and shields!;)

Prepare for a lot of shield and boards, bows and resto staffs. Rng is skewed, this is empirically verified. I got 6 resto staffs from my last 3 runs yesterday :s

Wrong approach. Buff the other traits instead.

So far 75% of my drops since the event went live (last Monday) have been Decisive.

I've been running vMA for over a year personally and have never gotten a dagger of any trait. To date, I have received a whopping 2 sharpened weapons, both of which were identical (ice staff).

It's common knowledge that decisive is undesirable for dps weapons in virtually all cases. It has been empirically proven by numerous independent sources that decisive weapons are favored drops.

It is my firm belief that two simultaneous adjustments are necessary to close the case on this issue:
    1. Buffs to non-sharpened traits, including Decisive, but excluding Defending.
    2. Rebalanced loot tables to afford an equal drop chance for all weapons.

On a more subjective note, I'd see Decisive traits removed from all damage-oriented weapons. I certainly do not know everything, but I have yet to hear of a single dps build that utilizes decisive weapons, either competitively or for flavor. It's clearly not a desirable dps trait, so my vote would be to only have it on tank weapons. Healers can also feasibly use decisive weapons, but its value pales in comparison to other traits, such as powered or infused (assuming anyone wants to use vMA resto anyway, as there are a plethora of better options for most builds).

nirnhoned at 500 spell/weapon damage is about even with sharpened, at least with dps in mind, at least acording to this - https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/262295/nirnhoned-precise-and-sharpened/p1 - maybe with major and minor damage buff up, it would be more but that would be okay, it is the hardest trait to get and make.

i am specifically talking about these lines-
So you would expect 183 Spell Damage for a staff and 219 Spell Damage for dual wielding swords. Thus if we’re dual wielding swords, Nirnhoned leads to an increase ability tooltip of roughly 3.2%.
thus the spell damage equivalence for Precise is about
https://i.gyazo.com/a14bcc98f941708c3e08c9dc585d6084.png This translates to an increase in average ability tooltip by 3.5%

Precise provides 3.5% increase in ability tooltip, this value can be achieved if Sharpened removes at least 1750 resistance.

5280/1750 = about 3, 3 times 219 = 657. so even with being 500 spell/weapon damage, it would still likely lose to sharpened, unless the boss is fully debuffed.

of course this is all from just dps standpoint.

Nerfing sharpened would be an indirect buff to heavy armour in pvp. I agree with your sentiment though; much of the vma woes are caused by having only one viable trait for an offensive weapon.

Yeah @Asayre is a math god. Nirnhoned should be best for pure damage and resistance, precise for healing/crit damage builds and sharpened for burst builds against heavy Nirn is the only one that works against Shields, so it should have a place in pvp, but doesn't because it is too weak. It's not even complicated to implement, just tweak the numbers and we're good to go ZoS :)
