Help me become a better tank

I've tried many things with my Nightblade to get a good understanding of the class, and so far, I am really in love with the tanking role. But DK tanks make me jealous, with their group synergies and crowd control (talons, chains, etc).

As a magicka NB there are many things to keep me alive, debuff bosses, and heal others a bit to take pressure off the healer. So far though, the only synergies I have created are those from inner fire, and from the nightblade ultimates. Would it be worth slotting some of the other undaunted skills? I considered the webs one but I never saw anyone with it, so I'm assuming it's crappy skill.

So far I use dark shades, refreshing path, the three first Sword and Shield skills, inner fire, sap essence and funnel health, plus inner light for the boosts. The ultimates depend on what the group needs most (I pug a lot).

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I'd recommend you to check this build. Not sure about the gear, but I used similar skill setup when I used to play my sap tank.
Positioning is a bit tricky on a nb, since you dont have chains you need to use mob's line of signt to your advantage (for example, taunt and run around the corner a little bit and then return so mobs would follow you and stack together. Dont worry too much about synergies, its usually better to use all the buffs and off-dps - off-heals. Nb has a superb ultimate regen, so I guess it would be interesting to use a build that buffs the group with warhorn (10% resourses+ extra crit damage) almost 100% of time.
Imo, the most fun thing about any unconventional build is to use your class' unique advantages. For example, I really loved my nb's ulti regen and offhealing (sadly, I'm an altaholic that doesnt have time for every char )

@KoshkaMurka thanks for the link - in fact I had already reached many of the same conclusions as the person writing that build (and have a similar tank, although with a slightly different rotation and gear). Funnily enough mine is also a Khajiit... and I have had to adapt to their lack of magicka bonuses too.

I'll probably see if using the swarm mother set helps with gathering far-away mobs, as that's my biggest issue. Up until now I'm using refreshing path to the melee, puncture puncture puncture, refreshing path to archer and gather there sapping all... but there's always another archer.
