Do they drop after every stage or just after the final one?

Only from last boss on last stage and they're not gold but purple.

You get a purple one from only the final chest. 2 during this anniversary event.
If your good and make the leaderboard you get a gold one in the mail

Still think it would be a cool idea to have a hard mode vDSA and vMA that drops golden weapons in the final chest. But yeah, leaderboard is the only way to get a golden vMA weapon.
