It doesn't really matter WHAT you call it or HOW you make it work, but we need something to make houses more than just personal eye candy.
There needs to be a reason to spend coin / crowns / time / effort in having housing.

✭✭✭✭✭No, because...Since characters will all share the same houses, I'd rather see personal storage for individual characters. Like, if you have a PVP and PVE gear set that only one character uses, storing the unused set in the house instead of the bank makes sense.
If you have laundered role play items, they make more sense being stored in the house instead of the shared bank.
I mean, it's not like deodorant was invented yet. I don't need another smelly old man in the mix.signing off0 -

Jemcrystal✭✭✭✭✭It makes no difference, because...Voted don't care. I can think of a gazion other things I would rather have. I would really rather the devs didn't waste their time on housecarls. On the other hand it would probably be the easiest thing to make. But I have questions before I can decide. Suck as: Is TESO suppose to mimick Skyrim? Or be altogether different?
If this game is just a copy and paste of previous Elder Scrolls then I want property I can build up with herbs, farmland, livestock, library, enchanting table, etc. I enjoyed building my own home.
If we are open to new suggestions then I want npc marriage WITH A HOT TUB. With cutscenes. Inquisition-like cutscenes. Witcher3-like cutscenes. *wink wink nudge nudge*

As it sits, my main is walking around with 7 sets of armor, jewelry and weapons. PVE Heals, PVE DPS, solo PVP, PVP small group heals and PVP large group and various options (if someone else has transmutation, I slot kags or SPC or something else...). Combined with 300-400 repairs kits and then 10-20 seige/forward camps, plus 8 different kinds of potions, 3 options for food and drink... my inventory space is limited. I'd love to have a summonable housecarl that carries all my *** for me so I don't have to do a decon/vendor stop after every dungeon I do.1 -

No, because that would make inventory completely meaningless.Being as space is growing into more and more of an issue with new sets coming into the picture, and other misc. things being released — would you like the option of having a housecarl to help carry your stuff limitlessly?
Also, in an MMO, you are supposed to wander around with other players, not add NPC companions to bring more lag to the system...
What I would want in the "housecarl" department... would be extra storage slots coming with housing, to allow my characters an inventory extension that way - but they still would have to visit their house to drop all those long-term storage things off.
And maybe a "butler" or "maid" (argonians available!
) for the larger houses, purely for RP reasons... though they could also have an game effect, like cooking you a random food item every time you visit home, allowing gear repairs, or something like that.
