And then there's the members of the TG: Quen, Zeira, Velsa, Walks-Softly and Silver-Claw

I was surprised by how much I cared for the TG members. I didn't find the quest line all that great, but I connected with these characters much more than with the Orsinium and the DB characters. I think it was because of the personal quests we did for them, and they were also very well-written and believable. Really, kudos to the team that wrote them and for their VAs too.

Its also because youre all "on the run" from the Iron Wheel. It creates this you vs them sort of mentality. Where as Orsinium is very political and has a lot of shady maneuvering by a character thats asked you to help them. Only for it to be revealed you were another pawn in the grand scheme of things.

I see the point about Orsinium, but I don't know about the DB, we are like that in the DB story line too - we vs. the Order of the Hour plus the Black Dragon. And they actually kill a bunch of members. I think the DB story didn't really flash out the characters as much as TG did. I really think the personal quests did it for me. The only "personal quest" on DB is the Kor/Hildegard one, and I found it to be cheesy and uninspired.

The only character in the DB we really take our time to get to know is Elam, because we know him through his repeatable quests (he actually finds it creepy if you try to get to know him early on, when you are told to go get to know your Brothers and Sisters in the DB). I believe that's why he is the only DB character I really care about. Although, I swear I would be devastated if they killed Speaker Terenus too; I feel a mighty need to get his approval for some reason. I think it is because everything about him is so... Imposing, you know?

In Orsinium, I got a soft spot for Talviah since the beginning, and I love that we got him on small doses over time instead of being with him more often, like with Eveli (I actually didn't really connect with her). Young, naïve, polite, sweet and always trying to be helpful, I was sure from the beginning that Talviah would die. I'm glad it ends up being a choice, at least - and of course, I could never hurt someone so adorable, so my perfect cinnamon roll is safe and sound in all of my characters' stories (I don't have any character that would actually kill someone like him on that situation, not even my DB character. If I did, I think I wouldn't touch the Orsinium quest line with a character like that). But that was all, I didn't really care for other (non-recurring) Orsinium characters. I think I see a pattern, here. I like characters that I get to know little by little :)
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

I wasnt saying you were wrong. Just that theres more to it than just the personalized quests. The problem with the DB is that its a group of assassins. Their reaction to being hunted down? Kill people as retaliation. TGs response to being hunted down? Get to the bottom of things and figure out why the Iron Wheel is after you. Sure you kill people along the way. But the goal of the Guild is to get themselves out of trouble by finding the person that betrayed them. Not by assassinating their way back into power.
