Does Dual Swords/Daggers Work with Magicka build?

I'm levelling my magicka sorc and currently using destro staff, along with bow just for some more range and when I go to campaign.

I'm levelling duel wield skin line along the way (as i aim to switch between dw and bow on back bar) but would this be a viable build? I do see a lot of players build using staffs with dw or 2h etc. but the skills you're using would be between mag and stam right?

So I'd like some insight on how these builds work?

Thanks

The only skill or passive that works with other Magika skills is dual swords, once you unlock the last passive you gain 5% damage done with two swords.

Daggers doesn't help Magika skills, if you read the passives all the others refer to dual wield or stamina based gains.

You may want to save yourself the frustration and steer away from a hybrid build

When learning, its better to stick with all Mag or all Stam and learn the class you're using before you try to venture outside the META and trying to do both.

Tenplars often use swords on they back bar for execute. The passive Twin Blade Blunt provides extra damage to anything is the reason. It only works with swords and is the only passive needed from that line.

There are some Templar builds that are solid that use swords as their main dps bar also. It's the only magika class that can do it really well. But same passive.

duel wielding increases your spell power on any magicka based skills that you can cast with out a destro stick.

That said, the way the game works right now I would not be trying to use duel wield abilities on a magicka build. Stick to class/mages guild stuff on the DW bar

You're better off using destro sticks than bow if you want to use magicka.

However, it really sounds to me like you might like stamina better if you want swords and bows

I'm trying to switch things up a bit and try new things on my sorc now. I go dual staff on my Templar healer. dual dagger and bow/staff on my nightblade. I'm loving the dual wield hence trying to fit it in on my sorc.

all notes taken and appreciated. I think I will continue to at least level the skill lines for dw and bow for now but stick using staffs. at least then I can switch it up at a later date when he hits 50 and I am more comfortable with my sorc. then research some builds and understand the "hybrid" style :)

If you run dual wield on a Mag character you only want to put points into the twin blade and blunt passive because it increases ALL damage done by 5% when using swords. You won't actually use any of the active dual wield abilities. On my MagTemp I put down/refresh AOE's on my Destro bar then switch back to the DW bar which is filled with class abilities such as reflective light, blazing spear and puncturing sweeps to get the extra damage from them.

Please for the Sake of God, never queue up for random veteran dungeons.... nobody wants to spend hours of trying and trying some specific Boss in there just because your using bow with staff, or using dual wield abilities as a magicka palyer.

its just so wrong. Please no

never ever enter this kinda environment unless u know what to do.

only true for damage, for templar class healing dw is best but what weapon type doesnt matter. daggers, swords, doesnt matter because for healing skills you only using dw for the spell power boost plus additional passive over restro staff. (personally i also love running 2 5p plus monster set on my heals.

Naturally if it's a build I am not comfortable with nor know much about nor how to use it correctly I am not going to go in to vet dungeons. I've only just started doing dungeons the past week due to not wanting to be that one guy that holds the group back, especially doing vets. Which I'm now doing just fine.
