Is there a way to check the average market price of items?

I'm kind of new and have no idea how much to price things? Is there any sort of guide or average MP value of items for reference?

EDIT: I'm on the PS4  I guess no luck, Oh wells.

If you play on PC there is an add-on called "Master Merchant" that does exactly what you are asking for.

If you are on console, I dont know sorry!

Asked and answered, but just to add, if you use Master Merchant it will only give you the average sale prices for items sold in your guilds so to get the best use from it, be sure to join a trade guild

I would love for Zenimax, Microsoft, and Sony to sit down and have a talk about console add-ons.

Console players need add-ons too. I think there is an especially strong argument for this given that console consumers are starting be be treated more and more like PC consumers with incremental, mid-generation upgrades such as the PS4 Pro releasing today and the Xbox Scorpio Project that releases Q4 2017.

Are any discussions potentially going to take place? Mods have been given to Skyrim Special Editions on Consoles. Doesn't the minorities of your playerbase deserve the same tools for playing ESO in a fun and effective manner as possible?

PCs are amazing machines. So are Macs. I love them both and love all of my ESO players on a PC/Mac. However, I feel that ZOS always treats us console players as second class citizens of Tamriel.

For console, no, not in game at least. You'll have to ask around or check guild stores and calculate your price from there. There are however some guides on the internet that have price checks-esobay comes to mind and esopricecheck, though the latter is for Xbox.

As I mentioned just before, we're a bit out of luck on console, but check out the Reddit page I mentioned-esobay because they do have a decent price check section done weekly.

The best bit of advice someone can give you, those blue motif books aren't worth 1k never mind the 5k price some people attach to them. Hate those things. They make looking through motif lists a ballache. I usually scroll fast through the motif pages and just look at the "Already in ..." part on the right hand side. When someone puts a blue one in, the text changes and you think you've scrolled past something you haven't yet obtained.

Since you're on the PS4 the best you're going to do is the Tamriel Trading Center website. Their list of items and prices is created by an add-on that uploads guild store inventories to their website. Obviously that means that their database has PC prices (although they do have empty databases for XB1 and PS4... maybe they hope people will manually upload?) but the same market forces such as how you earn gold, desirable traits, BIS, etc. are at work in all platforms.

Better than nothing for console players.

One thing to keep in mind, PC Prices are much lower than Console Prices.

So, how I did it before addons was shop around a trade hub or two looking at what things are listed for. Throw out the Highs and Lows and after 4 to 6 well stocked Kiosks you will get an idea of what commodities are priced at. As for Rare Items, hard to say, and no addon would help you anyway with that. If it's rare, and does not come up for sell very often, then the price could be very high. When I say rare, I mean less than 20 sales in the past 6 months. Not like Purple Set Jewelry which is rare, but enough people farm it so it's almost a commodity.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.
