VMA Vault of Umbridge... whats your method?

Ok so just like many others I have been running vma during this event. I run a magic sorc and I can get through most rounds without a death, then my nemisis the final boss on the vaults of umbrige (screaming deadroth like creature). yes i have beaten this numerous occasions but never without some issues or losing my lives.
My method is crushing shock weave the boss until the 2 mage adds, i kill 1 and interrupt the scream, kill the other, kill the poison mage back to dps the boss and rinse and repeat, all the while backing away from the boss meanwhile getting caught on them plants which are always conveniently in my path haha.

So.. what am I doing wrong? is it best to go HAM on the overloads? shall I stick with my crushing shock and weave then maybe drop destro ult?
Its not normally the scream that catches me off guard its the frustrating 1 shot if you get too close or the poisonious plants.

Are there any mechanics I may be missing? how to I avoid these plants without having eyes in my rear .

kill one mage, stack with the other. You'll be in his protective shield when the boss screams (Don't interrupt boss)
In fact it is pretty easy when you get the drill.

poisonious plants are just RNG

overload is so cheesy for beginners (so am I), if you struggle, I would recommend you to take elegant+overload for vMA.

as for current stage, when 2 mages are spawning, you need to kill one and then run to next one, because he going to cast protection shield. stay there and dps the boss. after scream is done, kill the mage. thats it. repeat.

stage 8 going to be very relaxing, and final one, ough, good luck. still stuck on last boss

Don't interrupt the scream, if you do the boss will stay enraged. Kill one mender and then stand under the blue bubble the second one puts up so you can dps the boss without taking damage then once he stops screaming kill the mender and repeat until the boss dies

Yes stage 8 and the final boss I have no issues with, infact I have done every round without a death apart from the vault. yes I am a beginner to vma (only done about 10 runs still taking 1hr 30 to complete) but once i master the vaults i will be happy

I'm more noob than you, but agree with the other guys, once I stopped using crushing shock, straight thru. Don't Interrupt him

Ok yes I will give this a shot. I have been making my life difficult then by interrupting him instantly lol. instead just stand in the mages bubble and unleash AoE, heavy attacks, frags and meteor (I will have to try and cut crushing shock out of my rotation purely for that phase).

Kill one minder then go inside the protective shield the other puts up during the scream. You can keep damaging the boss while he screams, when he stops kill the second. Rinse and repeat.

Your issue is you're interrupting.

Saw it straight away.

You kill 1 add, if your close to boss as you kill that add, prepare to dodge roll stay in the bubble when the other add spawns REMEMBER don't worry about the summoner (of poison clouds) as he does scream as they will die almost instantly.

Kill the add AFTER his finished screaming.

Flawless run below: - IT'S not super pro. But it shows my way, which I feel is really really good for beginners. Same for the 8/9 round little hints.

On a magic Sorc, for the love of all that is holy, don't interrupt that thing. Sure you can do it, but it is not the way to go for no death.

I drop AOE on the spawn and burn until adds spawn with my staff. I take out one add, then go to overload when I get to the shield and just burn boss. Once he stops screaming, I overload the second add and just stay on boss. A second set shouldn't spawn. One overload should kill the summoner as well.
