Mods on console

Hello!
So, with the remastering of Skyrim we saw that mods could be a thing on console. It is atm one of the biggest difference between Pc and console in this game. I'd really love to see some mods on console.
So, I'm asking, is there any chance ? Or are the devs completely unaware of this thing ? Is it even possible to add a system like they did for Skyrim AFTER the game is released ?

I don't think it's possible due to a few things. One being the console manufactures may not want it, particularly Sony. And another being that the console API may not support it at all.

Two different companies tho and the games were developed with different devs.

ZOS has not made it easy as they have different UI's for console vs PC so is it possible, yes but is it realistic to expect them, no because if added they tend to disable console achievements.

A year ago, people would have said the same thing about Fallout and Skyrim console mods.

Yes, it's possible. Bethesda has embraced console modding and so it's quite possible their sister company might start supporting add-ons at some point too. I wouldn't rate it as "likely," but there is a decent chance now anyway.

Pretty soon, people might be talking about the Xbox master race. ;)

I actually think there is a pretty good possibility for mods, atleast on xbox anyways. Definitely wouldn't say it will never ever happen as it is impossible to know either way for sure.

Mods on pc are designed and run by players. If mods were to be made available on console, they would have to be designed and run by zos. That would take resources they would likely not spend.

I think, even though i'm not 100% sure, that Skyrim mods on consoles are the ones designed by players for PC, so the amount of work seems not too big. Also, as they are slowly implenting mods functionnality in the game, it's more work for them than opening mods to consoles...

Has Zenimax ever talked about the possibility of mods ?

Sony put harsh restrictions on Skyrim modding and doesn't allow any external assets whatsoever, including scripts. That'd be a problem for ESO addons.

Skyrim mods are created and maintained by players on all platforms.

In context to the games being discussed your comment can come off confusing. It may help to reference specific games and how mods work differently in each.

For Skyrim and Fallout 4, those MODs aren't add-ons and actually are submitted through the game Dev and not Xbox live.
Whereas you suggest a different process that I've not heard of. Which games have player based mods that are submitted directly to Xbox live?

Well maybe Skyrim mods are not submitted to Xbox live because it's a solo game. Microsoft is really concerned about cheating and bug exploit in their consoles so i'm wondering if on this point the company will be likely to allow mods for online games. However, the console community shows a lot of expectations on mods, this could change Microsoft (and maybe Sony)'s mind ..
