Item respawn rate question

Do ore, plants, runestones, and containers respawn at specific rates, random rates, or some other arcane algorithms? The info I googled is all from years ago, and I wonder if Update 12 changed anything. I know respawns also occur when you log out and back in.

Things that are instanced to you alone (sacks, crates, furniture, etc) respawn when you move between zones or relog.

Things that are not instanced (chests, crafting nodes, etc) respawn at a rate that is controlled by how many people are in the zone the last I heard. More people == faster respawns.
