Weapon Swap with Trainee Set - Big Hit to health mag and stam.

So I have been toying with the Trainee set lately.

I have 1h Sword and Shield and 3 jewelry pieces. Stats look good. Set looks good. nice.

Big problem. When I weapon swap Im losing the 5 pieces bonus, maybe more, on my health/stam/magicka bars.

So when I swap from my 1h Sword and shield on my main bar to the 1h sword and shield on the second bar i'm literally down instantly 15% life or MORE!

I noticed this in a duel when as a tank my life melted away in the 1st 5 seconds of a duel. I was literally injuring myself by weapon swapping.

This CAN'T be right.

I WAS using a 5 piece trainee 5 piece black rose + Validreth on my NB. I WAS using 5 piece Kags 5 Piece trainee and 2 piece skoria on my mag DK.

I won't be using this set anymore at all now.

What a waste!

Sorry Im losing not just life but stam and magicka as well. This is a big hit every weapon swap.

I honestly don't see the problem?

Ofcourse if you swap bars, you lose the stats from the 5-piece. That's how every set in the game works.

In fact... IN FACT the sword and shield are both from quests. So they INTEND me to have this set using sword and shield so I can experience this broken mechanic over and over and over.

I see what you mean, but this is why you should be using body pieces for something like this. You gain max possible stats, not free health the moment you swap back to your SnB bar

Edit: it's the same thing when you consume food. You don't gain the stats immediately. They go up accordingly to your regen, healing etc. Unless you're new, this shouldn't be a surprise. And it isn't a broken mechanic either.

So imagine this:

Standard magicka setup: front bar vMSA staff and backbar 2 torug pact swords for extra spell damage. Why should I have the spell damage from the torug pact swords if I'm on my staff bar?

Let me get this straight:

Main bar you have trainee set 5 piece active, you then weapon swap to back bar that also has the 5 piece bonus active and you are losing the 5 piece bonus.

OR

Main bar has 5 piece active, but back bar doesn't but you expect to keep the 5 piece bonus from the front bar when you weapon swap.

If its the later then that's not how things work in this game, you need to have the full set even when you weapon swap

why don`t you farm a shield or 1h sword of trainee set and if you run 4 trainee armor and both weapons or 2h and shield trainee? then you are safe also with bar swapping . or you can use 1 jewerly as the 5th piece and you are safe

question, when u swap bars:

Is it from trainee set to NON trainee set,

or trainee to trainee (IE do u have the set on both bars)

Second question:

Are you LOSING health or just REDUCING MAX VALUES.

If your taking a huge chunk of damage its doing it wrong...

If your switching bars (IE Trainee to non trainee) and uy see your max drop thats normal (It is) - try with any set /bar swap with different hp(or other resource pools) values and u see your stats will drop to 'different values' and fill up (Regen) after the swap. Its because the game has to calculate from basic to current whenever u switch.

point is, its prob NOT a bug and just misunderstanding about how sets/resource pool calculation works.

(but if its how u make it sound, IE: u have 15000 hp, 5k of that being trainee, and bar swap leaves you with 5k hp, 10k normal -5k from trainee, then it IS a bug)

I have this issue as well. You take damage when you swap even if you have full Trainee on both bars. Your max values are exactly the same, yet you lose a significant amount of health for some unknown reason. Here's what I lose from bar swapping between identical gear which yields identical max stats.

Health: 3365
Magicka: 13
Stamina: 1027

Note: Having 4 pieces on jewelery + chest. Make me take 14 stamina "damage" instead of 1027.

So yeeaaaah. Since you for some reason lose significant Health and Stamina but virtually no Magicka there's something bugged with the swap. It's not even it mess up the 5 piece bonus since it yields a huge Magicka and Stamina boost to go alongside Health, and you dont really lose any significant amount of Magicka.

Unfortunately it's just lazy programming, twice born star holds your second mundus if you swap between set items on both bars.

Just another story of dissappointment for players who have spent days/weeks grinding new sets to find out they just don't quite work properly.

What irks me the most is how the hit to Health and Stamina is so hard while Magicka is virtually unaffected. How did they even manage that?

Edit: Considering it's a set supposedly for new players you would have assumed it had been tested to be consistent, clarity and all, or is the assumption just that by level 15 any iteration of a 5 piece setup involves no weapons?

Not sure if this is the same thing that is happening with your training set but I am currently experiencing this:

Sword and Board: 4 pieces set A + 4 pieces set B + Sword Set A and Shield Set B = 2 full sets A & B
Total Health 30k

Dual Wield: 4 pieces set A + 4 pieces set B + Sword Set A + Axe Set B = 2 full sets A & B
Total Health 30k.

However, when I weapon swap, no matter what my health drops down to 24k before it climbs. I have the exact same stats for both bars but even when standing still out of combat I immediately lose 20-25% of my health when I weapon swap. And it happens when I go from S&B to DW and DW to S&B. Not reason for this to happen.

Before you ask, I have to set it up this way until I get a full set of one of the sets mentioned.

This issue has been in the game for a very long time and happens with a lot of sets. E.g. if your tank has ebon weapons on both bars, your whole group will loose hp every time he weapon swaps.
I guess the problem is that if you are weapon swapping, the game assumes for a short moment of time, that you don't have any weapon equipped and therefore you loose the stats from it for a moment.

I did some more testing.

Setup:
1) Removed all CP spend.
2) No gear but the Trainee pieces.
3) 4 Pieces between jewelery and armor and 5th piece a same tier weapon on each bar.
4) 2578 Health and 790 Magicka on armor/jewelery
5) 5th piece bonus lists 2346 health/magicka/stamina.
6) Testing on a Dunmer.

Results with barswap and +stat racials:
1) Health 12421 from 14780 = 2359 Health "damage"
2) Magicka 20303 from 20316 = 13 Magicka "damage"
3) Stamina 11863 from 11876 = 13 Stamina "damage"

Results with barswap and no +stat racials:
1) Health 12421 from 14780 = 2359 Health "damage"
2) Magicka 18975 from 18987 = 12 Magicka "damage"
3) Stamina 111902 from 11204 ) 12 Stamina "damage"


Considering Health takes a significant hit, while Magicka and Stamina remain largely unaffected there's most certainly something wrong with how the swap functions. It would appear that the check for health values is bugged while magicka and stamina update properly.

Running 5 piece Trainee + 5 Piece Imperial Physique...

Experiencing odd behavior when I switch bars... my second bar shows 54K Magicka... my second bar shows 47K magicka even though both bars are the same in terms of 5 piece setup...

So odd...

Also, when I weapon swap... I lose roughly 20% of my heatlh... the 5th piece bonus...

Even if you have x5 on both bars, if you are using weapons, you lose the bonuses. Technically when you swap weapons there is a moment of 0 weapons. Losing stats.

Remember passives that increase stam, magicka and health (such as nord bonus)

Yes they drop weapons, does not mean this is a bug, been this way since day one.

same happens also with plaguedoctor+greenpact. on my tank i've on both bars 1h(plague)+shield(doctor) but each time i swap my health drops from 60k to 45k .... so even using the same *** sets on both bar doesn't avoid that *** problem. zos, really..

Swap and stats are broken for sure. I noticed this yesterday with my shields, which are both enchanted with stamina. I have the exact same stats on both bars, but I lose the stamina from the shield when I weapon swap, as if the other one wasn't enchanted with stamina as well but the system then realizes it and it regens.

This really should be changed/fixed. With every weapon swap people loose 5th piece bonus, even when you have that bonus on 2 bars. Trainee, Plague doctor, Draugr hulk... Please, fix it!

Old bug, same thing happenes when using ebon set (3 jewel and shiel+sword on both bars). I feel like they should fix this bug, really anyoing.

If your fifth piece is completed by a weapon for both front and back bars, when you swap the stats reset to normal and then slowly regen back up to full, making them practically useless if using weapons to make up the full set.

It shouldn't happen. There's some misinformation floating around that having the weapon as the fifth piece for twice born star set on the front and back bar, that when swapping you lose the second mundus. That's not true, I tested this by having 4 body pieces TBS and a Greatsword on front, bow in back, both weapons TBS making up the 5 piece. When swapping you don't lose the second mundus.

I think that's the way the other sets should work as well - it should retain the bonuses because you still have the full set active regardless of what bar you're on....

You just have to use jewellery and armour.

I hate this thing.
It makes not really profitable to use sets with 5th bonuses such as health, stamina and magicka on your weapons.

I'm as a tank using 1k hp everytime I swap my weapons of Endurance set, such a shame.

I just farmed/bought some plague doctors to complete my templar tank, I'm dissapointed it works this way. Have S+B on both bars, both plague doctors, lose almost 8k health on bar swap. FIX IT please. :-(
