Claiming Keeps in Cyro

I just wanted to open a discussion because I am curious as to how most people feel in Cyro about this. Please, if you would answer the following questions, I'd love to hear your opinions.

1. When a guild claims a keep, should they claim it because they did most of the work? Does it ever bother you when one of the "silly" guild names pick it up?

2. What about the guild store? How much do you actually use the guild stores of the guilds that claim keeps?

3. If you do use the guild stores, what kind of things do you usually buy in them?

4. Let's say that a guild does a ton of work to take a keep. Should they go ahead and claim it even if they aren't a trade guild or should the trade guilds?

Please let me know your thoughts about this subject. Thanks so much!

It should be a guild that does the most work for taking the keep who should claim it. As for the guild store, I have never used it, nor do I care about that. I claim keeps for my guild. No other reason. I don't care what the names are or anything when someone claims it. It gives guild recognition. The only thing that's irritating is if someone claims a keep when my guild does the work for it.

The most I ever notice about claimed keeps is if the guards are wearing an eye-catching tunic, and my interest goes no further. I tend to frequent the same few traders in rawl or belkarth so would never waste time shopping in cyro. So to conclude; the mechanic might as well not exist as far as I'm concerned.

Word of advice ... some of the best deals in Tamriel are from the captured keeps. Every now and again someone will claim a keep and unknowingly give outsiders "guild prices".

you can sell supplies people need in cyro like potions food buffs even gear and it sells well. Was shocked to find a massive amount of gold from sales in my guilds bank because of claims on keeps people frequently port to

I agree that the guild which works the hardest to capture a keep should get to claim it; but how would that be determined? By the sheer number of players in the keep that are wearing a tabard when it flips? How would the game determine that they contributed meaningfully? Would it track the number of kills made by people wearing a specific tabard? It could just be a giant guild of people spamming executes while smaller groups in the keep do the hard work.

In my opinion, guilds should be required to have a specific number of active (online within the last month) members in order to claim keeps. Resources could be open for any guild to claim. That may help keep troll claims in check.

When I'm in Sillydiil, I'm usually too busy running from objective to objective to even notice who owns a keep. I think the only guild store I've used frequently is the one at glade lumbermine. It's usually just to browse for whatever equipment I happen to be farming or motifs.

Just because a guild isn't a trade guild doesn't mean the members don't have stuff to sell. A PVP-focused guild is welcomed to claim a keep, especially if it means they'll be more likely to defend it.

If you need supplies in cyro go to a random resource and claim it for a trade guild you are in, buy the stuff, and be on your way.

These are all really good comments. I lead a small team out there and we occasional will claim a keep, but not all the time. My criteria for claiming is that we were the first to set down siege or we have been "working" on the take a long time. If another guild has done all of the work, and we just showed up to help out or just because we had a similar idea, we let the other guild claim. To be honest, sometimes we don't claim just because we are moving so fast around the map that we don't have the time. there's too much going on and we're on to the next objective.

I agree that things for the fight would be good in the guild store, but how many of us never leave cyro (I liked Sillydiil. Seem appropriate sometimes) and go to vendors outside? I know I almost never look in the guild stores. I have what I need before I come and I expect my team to do the same. It's like showing up to school without your pen and paper.

The only time I think I get miffed is when my team have worked their butts off for an objective and succeed in taking it and a lone pug claims it while we're finishing off the enemy and usually with a troll name. I think, "Really?!!!"
